shabby decoration, woo many stairs for elderly - what are disabled people supposed to do. whole place could do with a thorough clean. Not enough staff - wedding 2 people on main bar. Unorganised 1 serving breakfast to full hotel !!! 9.30 Sunday breakfast no tea, hot water, no cups, saucers, sugar, napkins knives or plates. Helped myself to them from stores between bar and function room to be virtually told off by a member of staff, when I said there were no staff she just went back to reception. Handrail at top of stairs unsafe completely out of wall. Found reception staff and what appeared to be senior staff abrupt, younger staff more helpful. Brides elderly mother and father in the smallest double room I've ever seen, hike along corridors and up and down stairs, no help with bags suitcases, they had walking sticks for goodness sake. We were above function room, music so loud we couldn't go to bed until after midnight when function ended. Room 59 wardrobe doors need oiling like scratching nails down a blackboard when opening/ closing so left doors open whole weekend. It wouldn't take a lot to make this a great little hotel, good clean, refresh of paintwork, good organisation, more helpful staff and more of them when hotel/restaurant busy.
The company of guests, garden and terrace area although no handle on outside conservatory door, so all wedding party had to keep going to side/front of hotel to get to bar to get a drink whilst waiting for meal over 3 hours, if someone did mange to go in when someone came out of conservatory staff came and banged shut doors again, clearly handle not there on purpose. I understand the staff needed to set up room for meal but there must be a better compromise.
