i woke up by other guests in the corridor in the morning. the staffs were busy to help other guests to check out, so there was no one serving breakfast
Very helpful and smiley staff. Very clean and fresh rooms. Lovely food, especially the superb breakfast. Good beer. Location and parking. Excellent as base for motorcycle touring in the area. More than happy to recommend The Castle to others and will definitely stay there again.
Helpful staff, food good and room service is available, wifi speed good
Was a bit noisy, but all quiet by eleven so wasn't a real problem and as it has a bar I am unsure what could be done about it
The rarebit for breakfast was excellent, room comfortable and clean and the price very fair. Couldn't ask for more
A hotel with character and a cosy bar area. The staff were genuinely friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The food and especially breakfast was excellent
Our bathroom was a little cramped.
The old building was lovely and the big room was nicely furnished. The location is a plus. Very good food at the restaurant.
My son's extra bed was terrible, I would expected something more from a 4-star Hotel.
staff & food was very good.Enjoyed our stay will return
Reasonable comfort Helpful with breakfast
A week before due to arrive where informed that they didn't have our booking although confirmation from booking .com they had double booked and convientiently couldn't find the booking which after making the call to hotel and then confirming with booking they managed to fit us in poor would not recommend this hotel
Found it friendly also a very good hotel to stay.Wood book again. Les /Nancy.Somerset.
The location was good and the staff were excellent. Any problems were sorted out quickly and when we had to leave early due to sickness we were not charged
We had 2 rooms the first one was above the bar and was noisy so we were moved to another room but this was very hot.
bed, central location power shower fluffy towels large room
steps leading up to bedroom (we were on top floor) shower curtain (sticks to you)
we love older buildings that have kept their character when doing their renovations - this had that very much so. It very much retained an 'old' feeling yet was very comfortable and clean. And loved the generous room size. Center of town an added bonus.
Nothing to 'not like'.
Cookies and the beers on tap in the bar. Staff varied in competence but if you managed to catch the right person they tried hard to accommodate. Food was good.
Wifi did not reach the room. bathroom door didn't shut and had a transparent glass door. Extractor fan was very noisy from another part of the building (presumably the kitchen) through the single glazed windows. Fortunately it was turned off before bedtime.
Breakfast was excellent!
There was constant noise from the water pipes, really loud. At first I thought it would keep me awake the entire night but after a while I got used to it (I was really tired and the sound was kind of calming, felt like sleeping next to a fountain).
Very comfortable and clean rooms. It had everything necessary. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Staff, room and breakfast. A most enjoyable stay!
Chips could have been better.
This is a fab hotel, great food, brill staff
We was kept awake most of the night by a machine noise, on and off every 10-15 mins, is a real shame as everything else is fantastic
Clean room good food friendly staff cosy feeling hotel
I booked a twin room for my daughter and myself but we were shown a double. We had to wait for half an hour while another room was made ready. After a tiring day out we just wanted a shower and a meal.
Lovely room, good bed, lovely breakfast.
Room not ready on arrival.
The Castle Hotel is a lovely, quirky Old Building (which I like) and has a lot of charm and characteristics about it with lots of history. The room was adequate, basic but met the requirements for what the visit was intended for. The room was very clean, comfortable and had good facilities and all the staff were extremely friendly and attentive making sure that our stay was to our liking and that we had everything that we wanted. The food was lovely, so nice that we did not bother going elsewhere. I would definitely recommend this Hotel, in fact I have just booked this Hotel again.
N/A it was great
bed was awful could feel springs.
The friendly staff.
Payment in sterling
Verry friendly staff realy good meals
Lunch prepared instead of breakfast!
Location was perfect, staff helpfull and friendly. Meal in the evening was very good with a good selection of food and wine.
For me being 6' 4" the single bed was too small and the duvet was too warm for a summers night.
