Fantastic staff who sent us to an excellent pub for dinner as it was there chef's night off. Had breakfast with the owner who was very friendly and told us a lot about the area. We love these old pubs.
Doona a bit hot. Would like to have the option of a blanket in the room.
good location in market place and competitive price
.Rooms are rather tired - but typical of many pub hotels. Public car parking only for 2 hours, or long stay car park a walk away.
Location, friendly helpful staff
Liked the shower, which gave instant hot water and was roomy. The manager was very accommodating in letting me choose from the available rooms. Loved the location. Had the window open and, although it looked out into the square, we had a very quiet (Monday) night until 6 am when a grocery delivery truck started dropping metal crates onto the cobblestones next door!
I chose this room because it was bigger. The drawback : Steep, narrow stairs 2 flights up, and a private bathroom that was a half flight of public stairs down. Also, the door slammed very noisily if you didn't hold onto it and was noisy to open (worried about disturbing other guests). Some light bulbs were blown and one lamp had to be removed due to faulty wiring. This should have been discovered and fixed long before
Free WiFi. Towels. Quiet room. Good breakfast. Central location. Inexpensive. What's not to like.
Proximity to town
No choice of Ales on Tuesday No food offer on Tuesday No breakfast on Wednesday
Location on square ideal. huge breakfast
Parking 2 hour disc parking in square keep having to return to car. No overnight parkingeasily available. Room not en suite, nearly locked myself out.
Location was central Pub itself was friendly
Unwelcoming staff initially Cold breakfast, didn't acknowledge requests for breakfast Window looked out onto litter strewn alley way , with several dogs droppings ( probably the owners two dogs) Expensive for quality down the road much better , cheaper and dog friendly!
Great place, friendly staff. Good pub downstairs. As a town, Richmond is lovely...certainly one of the most scenic towns I've visited.
Spacious pleasantly decorated room with window looking out on to the market place. Staff very friendly and helpful. We knew it was a shared bathroom but for the price and central location we felt it was worth it.
Bedside lamps only worked occasionally and new bulbs did not fix the problem. We decided it was too late at night to sort out. I could only get the Cloud WiFi and had to go downstairs to connect.
Rooms were clean and spacious.
Poor greeting and breakfast.
It close proximity to Carrick barracks .for my son's pass off parade
Breakfast wasn't the greatest they seem very confused at what we had ordered the previous evening .
I phoned to say we had car trouble and we're not going to make it. I asked for the room payment to not be taken on the card I had given to secure the room. I asked for a call back when the girl was not so busy to give other card details to take the payment. No call was received and they took the payment even though I asked this not to be done which has now cost me bank charges. Thanks for nothing.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was basic but clean and perfect for our needs. The hotel is ideally located with shops, pubs, restaurants all close by.
We couldn't get wifi in our room. Parking is a little awkward.
The location and the helpfulness of the manager
The location for the castle and other local attractions was perfect
Never have I paid so much to feel so in the way and unwelcome. Whatever the personal circumstances of the staff, service with a smile goes a long way. Rooms looked nice but furniture cheap and rickety. Couldn't wait to leave.
Bathroom was down a flight of steps and it was never clear if it was shared. The door to the room miade a loud noise from the door closer - very annoying at night
All staff were helpful
Being in the centre
Friendly staff, great location, nice food, clean rooms.
Wi - Fi out of range in our room

Very noisey from juke box below, went on till very late every night, usually till 11.30 ish ok for younger people but not for senior citizens In 70s
In all the stay was extremely pleasant my room was well presented and clean.the staff were very friendly and attentive. Have no problem with recommending the hotel and would definitely use again if needed.
Breakfast cooked to order Location - town centre Bar below seperate entrance if require Free parking
Bit pricy for what it was
The locality was very good The breakfast was good The staff friendly and helpful
Good central location in historic building Reasonable basic pub food and good real ale Comfortable clean beds Fair price during Toure de France
Grumpy and eccentric service at times. We had 2 linked double rooms but had to go through each others rooms to go outside or to toilet/shower. No long stay parking during day
