Score from 360 reviews Good
The hostess and host were very friendly. The Guest house was lovely and situated in an ideal place. The breakfast was fantastic and set us up for the day ahead. Great
we were under the impression that it was a hotel and would have liked a bar to have a drink after coming in from dinner
Warm welcome from Rebekah and husband. Breakfast excellent. Lots of toast! Bed really comfortable. Near beach. Lovely touches such as toiletries and heated towel rail. More pricey than some bed and breakfast but was alovely stay.
Family upstairs abit noisy.
Everything was really good
Friendly, clean, good breakfast and location
Very clean, friendly staff, lovely breakfast, bed was very comfy.
Bedside lampshades needed replacing
The superior room we had was clean and comfortable, nice view from window. The breakfast was fulfilling .Parking was not to bad only five or ten minutes away,if we had to park elsewhere. In all a lovely place to stay.
couldn't angle the shower
the bed was really comfortable and the room clean and breakfast great
parking we were told to park in flat car park as i am disable but if we went again would still get in.
The friendliness of the owners. The enjoyable breakfasts, loads of good quality food, many menu choices. Comfortable surroundings. The cleanliness in all areas of the hotel. Staff helpful and efficient. Comfortable beds, with crisp white sheets. The owners were most helpful when we encountered a problem, this was resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. Short distance to a beach, a further 10 minute walk to the Centre of Swanage.
Limited parking, but you can park in nearby streets. Just a hour slot for breakfast.
Owner was welcoming & able to recommend places to eat in the evening. Comfortable room with spacious bathroom. Excellent breakfasts.
On site parking was not adequate but were able to park on side road.
A light and airy room with a very comfortable bed and a miniature fridge. Excellent breakfast with a wide choice of items. Cheerful proprietors and staff.
Tiny garden and car park ( not that they claim otherwise and there is some on-street parking and a public car park nearby ). Poor water pressure in the shower.
My weekend at the Castleton Hotel was comfortable in a very well furnished and cosy room. Everything worked well from the shower to the kettle! Breakfast could have been a foodfest but as I was coxing at the South Coast Rowing Championships, held in Swanage, I had to show restraint! The staff were friendly and helpful. An extremely pleasant weekend!
There was nothing to not like!
Cleanliness; Room facilities; Excellent food; Efficient and friendly staff; Location
Limited parking but on-street parking available nearby; Room 5 - single bed area had one ceiling light and one ceiling spot light - not sure of the purpose of the spot light but a bedside light might be a good idea .... However, these minor comments should not detract prospective guests as the hotel is excellent!
I liked the location of the hotel and friendly staff
I didn't like the noise in my room the traffic was so loud you couldn't shut the window cause the room was so small and hot we had sloping ceilings which you had to avoid to get into bed even though I am only 5ft nothing Also breakfast was cold even asking for it to be heated up they just didn't get that right I don't know why it's classed as a hotel when it is just a bed and breakfast.
Good room with excellent facilities
The room and bathroom were very clean and well appointed with plenty of toiletries and drinks supplies. As we were arriving late, Melvin let us know the keys would be available in the lock box and texted us the code, and that all worked well. The breakfast was excellent and the owners and staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Good location. Only 5 minutes from beach and 15 minutes from main shopping area. Lovely clean rooms. Staff always on hand and very welcoming. Great breakfast, good choice, could not ask for more.
Location could not be better, just a couple of minutes stroll down to the sea. The owners Melvin & Rebecca were very welcoming and so helpful. The breakfasts cooked by Melvin were of good quality & generous portions. They also gave useful recommendations for local restaurants, bistros & pub food. Nothing was too much trouble to make our stay at the Castleton a happy one.
There wasn't anything we didn't like. Admittedly there is limited on site parking but luckily this wasn't a problem for us. We noticed there were also parking places in adjoining roads.
Staff and Owners Food Cleanliness
Lovely homely feel, big breakfasts with everything you want, extremely clean, 1 minute walk to the sea, and very friendly owners Rebecca and Melvin made us feel really welcome . Will definitely return if in the area again!
Hotel was lovely, very clean. The owners were very helpful and made you feel very welcome. Breakfast was excellent with a selection of cereal, yoghurt, pastries, fruit salad which you could help yourselves to and then a choice of a hot breakfast and toast.
