We loved everything about the Castleton Hotel. Our room was luxe, the dinner was excellent and the breakfast superb! Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We will certainly return if we are in the area.

The staff were consistently friendly and helpful and everything was spotlessly clean. The multiple crystals dangling and sticking up all over the room. The very large one on the foot of the bedframe neatly bisected & obscured the picture on the TV.

Clean, easily accessible by road, the restaurant - good menu. Friendly staff. Had a single room. Headboard was underneath the window. Had a stiff neck in the morning. No handle for the bathroom door. No bathroom extractor fan.

As a previous reviewer wrote don"t be put off by the rather dated reception area, this hotel is a real gem. My room was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities had obviously recently been renewed to a high standard. The experience just got better when I went down to dinner. Despite having a very large party in for a 21st birthday celebration. (Happy birthday Liz!), My meal was perfectly cooked, arrived at the table hot and was of excellent quality. Also a mention for the staff who were all very friendly and most efficient. If you find yourself near Rochdale then do visit The Castleton, you will not be disappointed. Excellent!

It was easy to find. The reception was warm friendly and efficient. The room was spacious, well appointed and comfortable. The bar was comfortable. The restaurant was excellent, both for quality and value for money. Freshly cooked English breakfast and / or continental was excellent. For 10 years I travelled the world as an historic tour writer. I rate this unassuming, modest, family run hotel amongst the best I have stayed in.

What a fantasic hotel found it relaxing, comfortable, the owners and staff were very welcoming & extremely helpful, we were greeted as we first walked through the door we knew we had come to a happy family run hotel, the breakfast was 1st class and plentiful, good quality food not rubbish. The bedroom was spotlesss and very comfortable with good beds and an excellent veiw over the well kept garden. We couldn't fault this hotel, wish our stay had been longer. The young co-owners have got it just right, nothing was too much trouble for them or their staff. If you want a great hotel you found it- the Castleton!! You will be very very hard to please if youre dissapointed here. Many thanks to all.

My wife and myself had a very pleasant stay at The Castleton Hotel. The staff who run it were friendly, helpful and served a breakfast that set me up for the day.. As an ex Rochdale lad currently exiled in Scotland!, It was a trip down memory lane to experience once again good old northern hospitality.

I use to live in Caselton so I went shopping to Bury market and got all the things I have not been able to buy at home, I visited my friends and enjoyed a good catch up and as we will be coming back to see them again we will stay at the Castleton Hotel, It was everything I had been told it was and more, and I would like to thank you all for making our stay one we would like to repeat. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them, our room was lovely, very comfortable and clean and we thought the bar prices were good and not a rip off like so many other hotels we have stayed at.

Friendly staff, quality rooms & bedding, excellent breakfast 1. Wifi not available in the hotel annex - if i'd known, would have asked for room in main building. 2. room quite compact - eg 2 pedestal drawer units under desk when 1 would have made it possible to sit comfortably

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and tastfully furbished. There was plenty room for car parking, and the lounge and dining room looked on to a well kept garden. The staff were very friendly and homely, and the cooked breakfast was plentiful, freshly cooked and very palatable. I would stay at this hotel again.

I loved the friendly atmostphere and courteous manner all the staff used. The Hotel is very accessable to Rochdale town centre and surrounding towns by bus, and the close-by rail link enables one to commute to Manchester easily. It is difficult to fault the facilities on such a short stay, but I didn't see too many immediate short falls
