The Cathedral Lodge  

The Staff were very friendly and my room was clean and roomy. The Steak I had in the evening was one of the best I have tasted and the breakfast was cooked with care and good presentation

Could not get the shower to get hot but then I did not ask. Anyway the cold shower woke me up

We always try to stop at The Cathedral Lodge because all the staff go that extra mile to make your stay a pleasure. The food is good & plentiful, the hotel is situated in a central position in Lichfield with a large free car park. Parking is expensive in Lichfield. But once again, it is the staff who make it seem like a home from home. Nothing is too much trouble for them, no matter how dotty the request!!

Cant think of anything we dont like. Otherwise we would'nt go there year after year.

The size of the bedroom and en-suite were excellent. As for the breakfast, how much could you possibly eat. Very good.

The appearance inside and out is very tired and really needs decorating everywhere. Shame.

Very impressed by the room. Very comfortable and spacious. Fantastic customer services. Very attentive staff. Breakfast was a real highlight.

Whilst the bathroom was lovely, the shower was a little erratic. The stained bath mat and poor grouting on the floor tiles was explained when the poorly fitting shower screen meant the bathroom flooded when the shower was used.

Very friendly staff nothing too much trouble. Clean room, large bed and hot shower!! Very nice breakfast, lots of choice.

Lovely staff, very helpful. Love the champagne breakfast and the eggs benedict are superb.

Not very atmospheric bar, and slightly dodgy clientele No-one around at all next morning - I simly picked my bill up off the reception desk and hope they would charge it to my card.

I was singing in the Cathedral with a visiting choir and the Hotel location was excellent . The initial appearance and reception area , on arrival , was not the best , but once we saw our room , which was very clean and well presented and experienced the courtesy and friendliness of the staff we soon relaxed . We enjoyed a very good and wholesome meal in the evening for a very reasonable cost (including the wine cost) . The breakfast was freshly/individually cooked and we were offered a free glass of "Fizz" to start the day (weekends only ! ). Overall good value for money.

The external appearance is in need of refurbishment/upgrading together with the very small reception area .

The bathroom was quite small and the shower in my room needed attention however the bathrooms nd the room were very clean.

All the staff were very friendly and polite. Location in Lichfield was good for bars and restaurants. Car parking was good. Convenient for a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum.

A quiet room was requested however a very noisy rattling air conditioning unit was just below the room window, this was switched off at about 10pm but some sort of motor/compressor ran all night. On for about 30 seconds, off for about a minute, on - off all night. So no sleep for the two nights I was there and no discount. Staff were sympathetic, grateful for bringing it to their attention but did absolutely nothing. All they had to do was locate the source of the noise and switch it off! So I paid for 2 sleepless nights, I would not stay there again

Service a little slow at times but staff always friendly; more of them needed!

I only stayed one night at this hotel, the staff were friendly and helpfull. I was visiting the area and the position suited me, the price is fine when you concider that the goverment take 20 percent for the privledge. Can't say what I think about that subject!

The only dislike was the TV kept changing channels without me touching the control.
