Very good attentive staff went out of way to help. Great room and food.
Room heating was too hot and little noisy outside hotel.
Rooms very clean Central to everywhere Staff very friendly and helpful
We wanted to see the cathedral and the stuff around it. The Cathedral Hotel is well positioned for that. There are interesting pubs and restaurants nearby. The hotel is OK, although you'd never get excited about anything.
Walls a bit thin - could hear neighbours snoring. No carpark, although Culver Street is nearby and you can park as long as you want providing you go and get a new ticket before 8am each day.
Ubicación en el centro
Por la noche, ruido de la calle
Good friendly staff, especially the manager
Breakfast not cooked as I requested. No salt in the dining room. Its all a bit shabby and run down, old beer marks on the table-at 6pm.
Food, atmosphere, clean room, great staff that bent over backwards to please. I loved Salisbury and would definitely stay there again!
No shampoo or lotion (strange that they provided ear plugs, but I guess since it's over the bar, it must get noisy on the weekends). Really tiny elevator.
The location was great, helpful and friendly staff nothing was too much trouble. Good food, comfortable and well presented rooms. A relaxing and enjoyable experience.
It's well located, within easy walking distance of the train station, the cathedral and the centre of town. We had no trouble with the room key. It was clean and unlike other reviewers we found the size of the bathroom ok, and stayed on the 3rd floor so the noise from below didn't really bother us (despite staying there on a Saturday night).
The furniture in the room was really worn, especially the desk which the paint work had peeled away from exposing the chip board beneath. The iron and ironing board aren't really asthetic features and could've been tucked away in the wardrobe instead of being put pride of place in the room. The room was stuffy and the windows didn't seem to open, and we tried to get the ceiling fan working but weren't able to. Breakfast is served until 10am, and we arrived at 9:55am which the staff were not happy about and so we were only given breakfast begrudgingly.
very friendly and helpful staff, very convenient for seeing cathedral and getting round town
Pretty run down, not particularly clean or well kept and right above a smelly pub which you have to walk through to get to/from the rooms. Lift was broken while we were there and we were on the top floor which was unfortunate. Not great value for money on balance
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Plenty of choice on menu and food was good too.
Central location Generous tea and biscuits in our room Provision of ear plugs to soften the loudness from the pub/club downstairs Good water pressure in the shower Park in Culver Street Car Park just 2 minutes away and free after 3pm on Saturday until 8am on Monday.
Loud cattle market pub downstairs You have to walk through pub/club to get to your room Grubby Tatty tiny room (308) Ridiculously slow breakfast service Filthy carpet in the room
Breakfast choice was terrific, staff were very helpful and housekeeping very attentive. Wi-Fi was good. Rooms clean and comfortable. Noise not a problem. No hesitation in recommending.
Room very good Location great for site seeing
I hated everything about this place. If I had known what it was I never would have stayed here.
The rooms were above a very loud & rowdy bar in the center of Salisbury. The location wasn't bad but the rooms were not clean but rather grimy. I was afraid to take off my shoes & socks! And the bar below was ungodly loud. Had a hard time falling asleep. I do not recommend this place to anyone nor would I ever stay here again. YUK!!!!
The hotel is well situated in the centre of Salisbury and particularly convenient for the cathedral. Our room was adequate and the double glazing protected us from most of the noise emanating from the bar below. We were warned about the possibility of noise but heard nothing on the Friday evening of our stay. We joined in with the party on Saturday and I think we were the last to leave so no disturbance. The noise element might be exaggerated but best to be warned. The staff were very friendly and particularly cheerful at breakfast. the standard of cuisine was perfectly adequate.
The decor is a bit dowdy but for an old building as primarily a pub, it was in keeping. A bit of a fight to get to the bar on the weekend evenings but not impossible and everyone good natured.
The staff were superb and very friendly. They were very knowledgeable about the local area and made sure that we enjoyed our time there. The room had a family twin and double adjoining with a shared en suite. Breakfast was lovely with a great choice.
Lift is rather small not suitable for more than 3 people.
very helpful staff, good selection of drinks and an excellent menu.Food portions very good.
I liked the staff, they were so helpful and friendly. I thought the place was clean and comfortable. Close to the cathedral.
Everything is fine , it will be fine a fridge , but , the city is wonderful , one of the most beautiful cities in England
very clean hotel helpful staff great food great location would come here again
Hotel room/bathroom was very comfortable and clean; staff very friendly and helpful; location excellent for walking into town.
Car park was a drawback, easy to get to from the hotel, but driving from the car park back to the hotel was a nightmare - but the city one-way system is not their fault. Food was something of a letdown - particularly breakfast. Note - allowing a pot of tea on the table would help!
good location, good staff, breakfast is ok !
no car park ! even there is free on brown street from 18 to 8am, becareful of overtime in the morning, there will be a big fine!
Bar staff and waiting staff very polite and helpful.
No parking. Nearest car park charges £30 a night to park. Youngsters screaming and shouting in beer garden till 02:30 in the morning at weekends. Night porter hiding in the shadows of the car park trying to catch people smoking out the windows at 03;30 because its impossible to leave the place after closing time because the alarms are activated and then being charged £100 for said 'offence'.
Good location in the centre (and close to parking facilities) and decent facilities & breakfast.
Willing staff, but not always very efficient. Though it was fairly warm outside, airco was far too strong inside (chilling). Double glazing windows quite complex to operate.
