Comfortable room and bed. Very warm, much appreciated in the windy weather. Breakfast excellent, no problem requesting more toast, coffee etc. Staff very helpful and pleasant.
We sadly missed the breakfast on the first morning but made it the second and it was fabulous. The staff are warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make sure our needs were catered for
Price, staff, location breakfast. Ideal for L'enclume.
Room could do with an update
Character of the building. Banter with the staff. Location and parking.
Poor shower, which fluctuated in temperature. Size and comfort of bed. Did not compare well with other updated rooms provided by competitors.
Food excellent, all served hot, more coffee/tea on request at breakfast, more toast & butter also. Sunday roast yummy as was sticky toffee pudding. Staff lovely, could not do enough for us. Sat by log fire with drinks & read papers, observed local characters!! Very quiet & warm. All wonky floors and beams, creaky stairs.......heaven.
Did not see resident ghost!!
Superb location in a lovely village
Room 4 - Small, creaky bed, en suite below standard, room is tired and needs refreshing. We booked 6 months prior for 3 nights and other rooms appeared to be superior when we walked past.
The food was amazing The staff very friendly even if they did keep forgetting my name Location Pub side was very good
No Wifi despite saying there was Bedroom felt dirty and there was a stain on the bed cover. Needed a bit of renovation. I dont mind old and as part of my job I stay in lots of old pubs but I felt the room was poor. My partner called and said she was Gluten Free. They said they would make sure they had stock in but had little in and could not even say if the food they had was!! One night was Ok but no way could I stop there as i felt I was falling out of bed as it slanted down.
Everything! It is such a lovely, cosy, relaxing and comfortable English Country pub with lot of traditional charm. The food is excellent and the staff are all so helpful and attentive. If you like a nice relaxing atmospheric pub, with lovely home cooked food, a good selection of real ales, wines, and spirits this is the place to be!! Richard (landlord) has done a great job, and we are looking forward to going back and staying again soon.
An excellent place to stay, very friendly staff, nice room (No 5) all in all highly recommended.
Nothing to dislike.
good location in the village
bank holiday weekend & breakfast finished at 9.30. bedroom & dining room tired the place needs some tlc. serving drunks who could hardly speak on raceday. also on raceday serving all drinks in plastic glasses
Really quaint room with juliet balcony over looking the garden. Old charm. Bathroom a little tierd but sort of complemented the style of the place. Breakfast staff v efficient and delicious scrambled eggs and smoked salmom.
The shower power was very poor.
The Inn is in a good location. Room was very comfortable. Food was excellent Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again
Everything! What was not to like?
We stayed in a newly refurbished room 50m from the main hotel. Lovely room, very clean, but surprisingly no shower facility - just a hand shower in the bath. Private car park in useful given the nature of Cartmel town centre. Staff really friendly and helpful. Right next door to L'Enclume!
Car park entrance very tight even for medium (VW Golf) car. Lack of shower.
Perfect location for Cartmel Races.Lots of quirky character.Very friendly staff.
Lovely People....Gorgeous Food....Very, Very Clean. Extremely Welcoming.
Quaint room with lovely decor, bath and shower and excellent location
Mirror in bedroom would have been handy for hair and make up
Lovely old building . Comfy beds. Good quality cooked breakfast.
It was very busy when we arrived and they were understaffed. When I handed in the key the member if staff behind the bar- which doubles up as reception- was on the phone but it would have been nice if he had asked the caller to wait a second while he thanked me and said goodbye. Just basic manners. More importantly there were only commercial cereals like cornflakes for breakfast : no muesli or yoghurt!!
This is a beautiful, historic building with uneven floors and many original features. The rooms have all the necessary facilities and both staff and accommodation are of a high standard.
We had a very small room this time, which was clean and functional, but should have been slightly cheaper than the room our friends had, which was twice the size!
the noise early in the morning
Friendly staff and couldn't do enough for you. A real family run business everyone has a smile on there face!
That we didn't stop for longer!
Lovely setting in the beautiful village of Cartmel. Richard and all his staff made you very welcome and were all very helpful.
Great location right in the centre of the village. Given very limited parking in the village itself, the pub car park was a real bonus. Food and beer both good.
Room OK but a little small; no spare plug socket!
Fire in lounge made it cosy. Cheerful staff.
The bedrooms are dated - our bed was squeaky. In general need of refurbishment.
Location and staff
Tv didn't work and the shower was either too cold or too hot and not very powerful at all, no wifi signal either
