The staff at the Cawdor were fabulous as was the food in the restaurant - superb ! Made a special birthday weekend very memorable !! Highly recommend ,,
Beautiful and clean room with all facilities you need Delicious breakfast
There isn 't any elevator to go to the room Car park's situation
Lovely large rooms, clean, great showers, comfortable beds, quiet, convenience of parking was the best feature.
We were vegans (don't eat any meat products). There was absolutely nothing on the menu we could eat at the hotel. You really need to offer a couple possible dishes. Even if they are vegetarian, as a vegan we can take off the cheese or hold the mayonnaise or dairy. You need to find a chef or restaurant that can offer you a few recipes. Instead, we had to drive down to The Plough each night and eat and fortunately it was excellent! Also very inconvenient for travelers that you are closed on Mondays for food. I had them make porridge for breakfast and they didn't cook it long enough and it tasted like wallpaper paste! This should be a regular option for breakfast but it was clear it isn't. Another bad thing was that there was very poor WiFi access, we had to sit in the hall outside the bathroom to pick it up in one of our rooms. The signal was terrible.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our mid week break at the Cawdor Hotel Llandeilo. Top Marks.
First off the photos of the outside don't do the hotel any favours but look past that and you'll discover a gem!! The friendly staff can't do enough for you to ensure you have an amazing stay! The food is out of this world and probably some of the best I've had ever in a hotel! Now the room well we stayed in laughne or room 22 as it's also known, fantastically presented and a real air of quality and luxuary about it. The room is even better and bigger than it looks in the pictures and the bathroom I wanted to bring home with me!! For us though it was the amazing service that topped it all Geogina on reception always had a smile and was great to help with plans on what to do locally. Tim in the restaurant always polite and smiling with excellent service. A very well run establishment with smiling staff no matter how many hours they've worked, could teach other establishments a thing or two!!!
Having to leave and come home !!!
The cost. The food. The friendly staff.
Too hot. Too noisy.
No elevator. Sore knees from walking up 3 flights to room
Car Park a bit inconvenient.
We attended a wedding reception and the food and service was fabulous, very very good, can't fault anything.
The breakfast, you had to make your own toast, the bread was too large to fit into a rubbish toaster, so by the time it was ready my hard bacon and watery scrambled eggs were cold. I didn't bother going down for breakfast the second morning, although my husband did and said it was a little better than the previous day.
The Staff- Jake was really helpful and sweet, and the barman (didn't catch his name) made a real effort and stayed after his shift to talk to me
very comfy bed, great shower, room lovely, clean
traffic noise, cooked breakfast was awful.. worst ever at b&b also dry bread & had to toast it ourselves!
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms very comfortable with touch of luxury and nice decor.
Very disappointing that restaurant was closed on a Sunday night. The alternatives on offer as bar food were very poor and there is nothing else open in the town
good quality bed linen and comfortable beds , lovely bathroom
no air conditioning and windows cannot be opened far as they only open 6ins due to health and safety so room was far too hot , there was a fan in the room but this made little difference , by leaving window open it was very noisy in the morning as we were in front of hotel. so advice is ask for back facing room
The room was beautiful. Nice size bath + shower. Wish the pillows were thicker.
Fantastic stay - staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was immaculate with a pretty amazing bathroom & shower - very spacious. Food was very impressive - would definitely stay again.
The reception stayed open late for us to check in
The receptionist was very rude when I rang directly enquiring about room prices and when I told her the price on booking.com I was told "Madame all those rooms have gone" when I later booked on booking.com I called back and spoke to the same receptionist who said again "Madame as I told you those types of rooms have gone, I said that I had booked it and she said "well I will wait for the conformation email to come through. I was a little shocked as if they didn't want people booking "those types of rooms" why would they advertise them on the site
The receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable with the addition of a fan, though still very hot.
The restaurant was closed the night we stayed and also the following night. Food at the bar was quite limited but a good quality. Breakfast was disappointing and the mushrooms were inedible.
Staff very welcoming very accomodating Breakfast very good
Traditional surroundings with a modern touch.
Restaurant closed Sunday to Tuesday evenings. Excellent dining alternative close by but too far to walk.
Comfortable room, excellent breakfast and dinner, lovely bathroom, competitively priced. Thoughtfully placed fan in the room due to the heat wave. Nice reception and waiting staff, well done!
As a grade 2 listed building, it means there are no lifts. Bit of an effort dragging your case from the car park down the stairs at the back. Rooms at the front suffer traffic noise
Friendly, efficient, helpful staff. Delicious good quality breakfast. Clean, comfortable, beautifully renovated rooms. Great location in this lovely Welsh market town.
Improved access from car park Bed and bedlinen Bathroom, towels and toiletries Room fan and drinking water. Breakfast. Melanie on Reception.
Safe out of action. Cushions and throw a little tired.
Rooms were very nicely decorated. No air con but a fan was provided. Hotel decoration overall was very nice.
Breakfast times unsuitable for business people. Evening menu unavailable until 7.This is a little late to be making a decision to eat there or not.
Building is fine and characterful with a long history. Room was well appointed and peaceful. Breakfast was excellent and staff at all times skilled and friendly - no fuss but just what we wanted.
We have stayed at the Cawdor a few times and have always found the staff helpful, the rooms great and the restaurant excellent. Breakfast is always amazing and as much as one can eat.
