We loved everything about our stay at the Cawdor, especially the welcoming and helpful service at the hotel bar and restaurant.
First the room - quite spacious with huge very comfortable bed. Bathroom as good as it gets - clean and everything in good working order. Lounge very welcoming and cosy with all staff most helpful and courteous. First class breakfast next morning.
The car park is not the most convenient with many steps to access it - but it is possible to pull up in front of the hotel and unload luggage etc.
Restaurant evening meal was superb.
Start to finish
Excellent bed, very large and so comfortable.
rooms were lovely. beautiful view. lovely big bath, shower and bed.
different staff members gave us different information, so it was confusing and we missed the Sunday roast because of this and my husband was hungry all evening as bar food was not very filling.
Meat dishes and desserts on dinner menu particularly good Reception and restaurant staff welcoming and responsive Wonderful comfortable bed, bedding, pillows Great location from which to revisit childhood haunts
Very comfy bed.
Bar a little on the small side.
The staff at the Cawdor were fabulous as was the food in the restaurant - superb ! Made a special birthday weekend very memorable !! Highly recommend ,,
Very stylish redesigned interior, large comfortable rooms, huge well endowed bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. The location in town is nothing special but it is a great place from which to roam the countryside of Wales.
When booking, I asked the staff to use my card over the phone to pay as the booking was a birthday present for my brother and his girlfriend. They told me they had done this, yet still gave him a bill when he checked out making him pay £70 for the room. I did not want him to see how much the room cost, nor did I want him to think I expected him to pay and that I would pay him back afterwards!
Great welcome by Jake, fantastic room and top quality food. A real treat after a long day on the road
Parking is fiddly, not easy to locate and you need an entrance code isn't issued on confirmation of booking.
very approachable staff and the room was very nice.
it was a bit noisy in our room as we were above the kitchen and the extractors or something sounded as if there was a train passing. once the kitchen stopped for the night it was peaceful. paid £22.95 for afternoon tea and it was not what i excepted.afternoon tea should be bite size sandwiches and cakes but we had standard sandwiches cut in half and 3 big cakes each which was too much. but it was very tasty just not what i excepted.
Beautiful and clean room with all facilities you need Delicious breakfast
There isn 't any elevator to go to the room Car park's situation
Lovely large rooms, clean, great showers, comfortable beds, quiet, convenience of parking was the best feature.
We were vegans (don't eat any meat products). There was absolutely nothing on the menu we could eat at the hotel. You really need to offer a couple possible dishes. Even if they are vegetarian, as a vegan we can take off the cheese or hold the mayonnaise or dairy. You need to find a chef or restaurant that can offer you a few recipes. Instead, we had to drive down to The Plough each night and eat and fortunately it was excellent! Also very inconvenient for travelers that you are closed on Mondays for food. I had them make porridge for breakfast and they didn't cook it long enough and it tasted like wallpaper paste! This should be a regular option for breakfast but it was clear it isn't. Another bad thing was that there was very poor WiFi access, we had to sit in the hall outside the bathroom to pick it up in one of our rooms. The signal was terrible.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our mid week break at the Cawdor Hotel Llandeilo. Top Marks.
First off the photos of the outside don't do the hotel any favours but look past that and you'll discover a gem!! The friendly staff can't do enough for you to ensure you have an amazing stay! The food is out of this world and probably some of the best I've had ever in a hotel! Now the room well we stayed in laughne or room 22 as it's also known, fantastically presented and a real air of quality and luxuary about it. The room is even better and bigger than it looks in the pictures and the bathroom I wanted to bring home with me!! For us though it was the amazing service that topped it all Geogina on reception always had a smile and was great to help with plans on what to do locally. Tim in the restaurant always polite and smiling with excellent service. A very well run establishment with smiling staff no matter how many hours they've worked, could teach other establishments a thing or two!!!
Having to leave and come home !!!
The cost. The food. The friendly staff.
Too hot. Too noisy.
No elevator. Sore knees from walking up 3 flights to room
Car Park a bit inconvenient.
We attended a wedding reception and the food and service was fabulous, very very good, can't fault anything.
The breakfast, you had to make your own toast, the bread was too large to fit into a rubbish toaster, so by the time it was ready my hard bacon and watery scrambled eggs were cold. I didn't bother going down for breakfast the second morning, although my husband did and said it was a little better than the previous day.
The Staff- Jake was really helpful and sweet, and the barman (didn't catch his name) made a real effort and stayed after his shift to talk to me
very comfy bed, great shower, room lovely, clean
traffic noise, cooked breakfast was awful.. worst ever at b&b also dry bread & had to toast it ourselves!
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms very comfortable with touch of luxury and nice decor.
Very disappointing that restaurant was closed on a Sunday night. The alternatives on offer as bar food were very poor and there is nothing else open in the town
good quality bed linen and comfortable beds , lovely bathroom
no air conditioning and windows cannot be opened far as they only open 6ins due to health and safety so room was far too hot , there was a fan in the room but this made little difference , by leaving window open it was very noisy in the morning as we were in front of hotel. so advice is ask for back facing room
