Good, clean comfortable hotel
WiFi log-in details didn't work and contact details provided for this eventuality only manned Mon to Fri during office hours
Very close to Reading town centre.
Felt a little bit like student halls of residence.
Bed and room were fine.
Location is not well signposted within the university campus. Breakfast is in a separate building which is also not well signposted from the rooms.
Breakfast and easy to get to and from Reading - regular bus service (be mindful of exact change). Food excellent in Cedars House!
lots of noise untill 3 am photo very misleading not old building as expected
It was perfect whilst studying at Reading University for 2 days. Excellent location on campus and free parking was brilliant. Will definitely stay again!
Clean, comfortable. Modern, functional . Great for us as was settling our daughter in at university on site, free parking.. If you need a drink ( not just alcohol )advisable to take with you as everything closed at6 pm
Checked in on a Sunday.no advise on door how to check in as reception closed weekends. Was told written on booking form but didn't have this with me. No one around to advise.
Got this hotel as a last minute deal for my daughter & her friend who where at the Reading Festival. They only wanted somewhere to sleep for one night & have a decent shower in the morning. It was a very cheap rate for a night. The facilities in the room were excellent and well appointed. Spotless, well equipped bathroom & probably newly decorated. They didn't have breakfast so can't comment.
Bit secluded from Reading town itself, cost of Taxi was about £16. Traffic may have been heavier that usual as The Reading Festival was on.
Easy drive to Heathrow to drop off car and proceed to terminal
The only advantage is that it is located within University of Reading campus.
1. Absence of receptionist/anybstaff between 1800 hrs and 0800 hrs. 2. Absence of lift. 3, Unreliable wifi. 4. Poor taxi service. 5. Low value for money.
Lovely location- very quiet and pretty grounds, great value for money, fantastic breakfast, very clean room, perfect for a short break.
Some taxi drivers have no idea where the hotel is as it is quite tucked away on the campus.
Great value. Comfortable.
A bit far from the London Road campus where Special Collections is housed and NO LIFT so had to lug a heavy suitcase up two flights of stairs. They say "they are working on it," but if you have mobility issues this may not be the place for you until they get that sorted out.
staff rubbish wouldn't even order us a taxi, said she don't normally do that?? ive never stayed at a hotel where they don't order you a taxi. Also we were informed that there would be no electricity on the sat morning and that we would be delivered our breakfast, when we asked the staff about this they didn't even know what we was talking about and said they would call us back to let us know what time it would be delivered. when we got back that night it had been left. considering we were supposed to be getting cooked breakfast each morning when we found we had a apple, dry muffin and nutrigran bar we were disappointed to say the least!! this is not what you want for breakfast after a night out. Rubbish
What a great place to stay and the staff were great too.
if you are looking for clean comfortable accomadation for a night then its a great place to stay. Can't comment on the food as I went out to eat.
Rooms were clean and very well presented
Breakfast staff were reluctant to offer service
The room was clean, set in lovely grounds. Breakfast was good with other options for eating on the campus. Within easy commute to Reading festival and town centre. Very reasonably priced
Early check-in not available.
It was clean well equipped and great value for money with a good breakfast. Car park was free and located ina good position to get to the festival.I arrived late at night and the access was exactly as I was advised.
We had no power from 8am to 1pm on one day but they did advise in advance and this was beyond their control. It meant a non cooked breakfast and no wifi but the service was still very good overall.
The location is different as it is part of the Reading Uni campus - we were staying to attend Reading Festival and getting a taxi to and from the gig was easy and cheap
You don't actually meet anyone... There are no staff there at the weekend so you talk to someone via an intercom and your keys etc are in your room... It was all a bit odd :)
Nice area. Obviously lots of money to spend in the south.
Service could have been better.
Room was very good. Excellent value B& B. Breakfast was gr8. Venue of 60 th party was next to the Park house a stones throw from the room. Advised best to come when students are on holiday which was the case.
Quiet location on site gave us the opportunity to walk round the beautiful 250 acre campus. Free parking and regular buses into town enabled us to have a meal in the town centre without the car. Good free cooked breakfast too.
Room a bit hot
Very comfy bed, good shower, toiletries.
Breakfast was not good. Some items dry and overcooked, some not fully cooked. No tea available until requested. Grubby tables and seating area.
No hot water in the morning
Bedroom well equipped Bathroom modern and fresh Very well suited to our purpose as we were going to a function in the university
Early morning noise of bins No reception staff Quite limited breakfast choice compared to chains like the Premier inn
