|Located on the Esplanade on Weymouth’s beautiful seafront, Beachcomber Guesthouse offers accommodation across the road from the town’s famous sandy beach.|
Good location, smooth checkin, clean facilities, good wifi,
I think its a bit expensive, 98 pounds is a bit strong. To many unfriendly rule posters, fines for this and that etc. No flexibility on check out 10am on a Sunday is to early. Not really a hotel it's a bed and breakfast.
very welcoming on arrival and throughout stay, clean room recently had new carpets, close to rail station,English breakfast cooked to order fresh locally made bread, a good choice of cereals
shower cubicle was small not accessible to larger guests. flush on toilet noisy as its a saniflo loo
Friendly family owned, helpful with directions etc. lovely and warm
need of TLC but they maybe having a revamp during the winter. bathroom door (sliding) was broken, very difficult to close from inside. would suggest roller blinds at windows as lights outsides were very bright all night
The whole stay was comfortable and pleasant I would recommend this Guest House loved everything about the staff were efficient, kind and helpful breakfast was ace
Close to all shops and pubs. Nice view from our room, and nice cup of tea on arrival from the Hotel staff. Very pleasant. Joy Oxfordshire
Had to wait awhile before Hotel owner's came tp door. Keys didn't work very well to the front door took ages getting in, rang the bell and still no one came, finally key worked.
Great view great place to see weymouth
Did not like the bed . Felt like I was fulling out of it each night . Like to have my breakfast with out the owner hovering over me all the time and the waiters needs to tie her hair but as she was coved in long blonde hair all over her top .
The view from my room was great
Lovely Welcome from the family who run the Guest House Fantastic Sea View from my room ( Number 4) Location is very convenient to all of weymouth town centre Breakfast Excellent ( if not adaptable in some ways) Lovely to have en suite as I'm partial sighted and this saved me some peril of going out the room in the middle of the night down stairs to the toilet! The Organic and ethical stance of the Guesthouse and Cafe Weymouth ( which they run near by to the Chanel Weymouth)
Mattresses in need of updating ( this is happening shortly I'm lead to believe!) bit odd having milk in a fridge outside the room so have to go out the room to get it when you wanted a cuppa, They would be better off offering uht milk pods at check in as a choice to the guest!
Great location Lovely breakfast Helpful staff Lots of restaurants & bars Wifi Extra toiletries in room a nice added extra
Noise from outside Decor bit outdated Bed bit uncomfortable
Rooms need updating and shower cubicle needs replacing
Felt needed to serve breakfast till later time. Especially on a Sunday. Also later check out time 11am.
The staff were very friendly and the lady of the house was very informative of the area regarding eating and drinking.
The curtains were too light which made it difficult to sleep then woke really early.
Cleanliness, Staff, breakfasts.
Bathroom door didn't fit. Mattress very firm.
Breakfast, comfortable bed
Staff are very helpful. Room was good, particularly the bathroom. Excellent information on local area available. Fridge was a nice extra.
Mattress was a little hard.
The location couldn't be beaten. Right on the seafront. The breakfast was absolutely delicious but don't expect Dorset Cereal, it's Aldi haha!
The lady of the house wasn't about (who was lovely when we saw her) when we arrived as she was sick so her husband "welcomed" us. He was a little distracted and indifferent. We guessed he was usually back of house. As our rooms weren't ready he said leave our bags and the rooms would be ready on our return from lunch. When we returned, my bag was in my Mother's room (ground floor), so I had to lug it up to my room (top floor). We could have used a demonstration on how to use the room key as it took us 3 days to work out! Having said all that, we laughed and would definitely go back again.
We liked everything! My mother and I stayed at The Channel Guest House for 4 nights. Our single rooms were well appojnted, clean and comfortable. The owners were very obliging and made us welcome with a cup of tea on arrival and took our suitcases to our rooms; any requests we made were met with a positive response. Breakfast was delicious with ample choice and good quality ingredients. I would highly reccommend this guest house and look forward to returning.
It's a very slight niggle but I would like to comment on the noisy drinks fridge in the lounge area!
The situation and a good breakfast.
It was on the sea front and convenient for the town, bars and restaurants. We were provided with a parking permit which gave us free parking so this was very good. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and always freshly cooked. A fridge was provided and we had fresh milk for our tea.
No grapefruit or apricots/fruit at breakfast. No clean towels for the whole of our five day stay even though we put them in the bath to be changed. They were hung back up on the rails. The room was at the back and the lights from the buildings at the back were bright and lit up the bedroom. No dressing gowns were provided even though this was in the description. The shower over the bath was hard to work and the TV was constantly switching off due to the signal. The door lock was very difficult to work.
Nice personal. Service minded. Near beach
To much carpets. Seagal screeming early in the morning
Very warm welcome Clean and comfortable room.
Was a really good experience.
location was amazing looking out of the window onto Weymouth bay priceless!! We loved our stay
Don't Sleep with windows open onto seafront, we were woken up at 3am by passing revellers and this continues until 5am, If like me you need windows open at night be prepared for passing noise!! This is no fault to guest house but maybe need to warn guests if staying weekends.
Location of hotel
Room in attic had to bend to get in and out one side of the bed, saniflo toilet, too many notices Towels not changed. Breakfast only had thick bread, put out very little yogurt and milk at one time felt as though they begrudged you having it.
