Welcoming staff. Comfortable spacious room.Excllent breakfast and dinner.Helpful advice about local walks etc.
This is not a 'don't like,' just a suggestion, but the room is plenty big enough to have a sofa or at least another chair.
The food was fantastic!
Great food, helpful staff and great location
Friendly atmosphere-very relaxing and the excellent food tastefully served.
Lack of Wifi but not that important-probably good to get away from technology forva while!
Excellent food both evening menu and breakfast, wide choice and interesting. Beer was excellent too. Cosy bar and good service.
Bathroom radiator stayed on all the time and made the room unbearably hot! Also the radiator emitted a loud noise that was not good when trying to sleep next door!
Location, food and value
Affable service, delightful period bedroom and very quiet, outstanding food, parking 10 yards from the front door, and all for less than the cost of a Travelodge.
Wi-Fi available only in the bar - but this was a very minor inconvenience.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, pleasant location, enjoyable food with a varied menu .
Had some problems finding it but it was dark.
Friendly, helpful staff. Good food. including excellent walkers size breakfast. Good local ales.
Very welcoming. Relaxed atmosphere & great food. Staff where all very helpful & made the stay very enjoyable.
Nothing we really enjoyed our stay.
The food and the service was excellent and the log fires just made it very special
There was nothing not to like
After an arduous journey we were welcomed to the Chequers by the enthusiastic owner. Rooms were welcoming, fantastic bathroom in room 1. Returned from Chatsworth for dinner at 8pm.....the Game Menu was out of this world. We all had an excellent meal. The breakfast was equally as good. We shall return next year.
spacious and comfortable twin room. pleasant and helpful staff real ale
decor a little tired bathroom could be cleaner though not poor enough to complain
thought the breakfast could have been a lot bigger .
Lovely helpful staff. Kindly sent us some left behind property.
Fantastic food and very friendly staff, highly recommend staying at this lovely pub/Inn
Bed could be updated as the mattress was not the most comfortable - very firm
Excellent, excellent! !
Overall welcoming staff and level of service. Good food.
Lighting in the bedroom No remote for TV
The quality of the food was good (but very expensive) and the geographical location convenient for visiting Chatsworth House.
Our roadside room was noisy even at night with the window shut. The rest of the property in general was in need of TLC.
Great food, warm and welcoming, friendly staff, lovely position on the Edge
Needs a reading light, room rather dark.
Large comfortable room, pleasant staff a great find.
Lovely old beams, open fires and lots of character. Debbie the Manager and all the staff were friendly and helpful with nothing too much trouble. Definitely not your average Pub food as the Chef really knows what he is doing!! Highly recommended!
The food & attention to detail
staff, food was delicious, beautiful bathroom, lots of hot water
bed was really quite uncomfortable, but a member of staff said they were about to refurb that bedroom
