all the staff were very helpful . We had our 3 month old daughter witb us and they were very helpful even with our breakfast while my wife fed baby . will be visiting again very friendly with guests and food was excellent

Room was lovely and stylish. Everything worked well. Breakfast was very pleasant. Could do with some plain yogurt though. Staff were very friendly and kind. Food in evening was excellent. Beds very comfortable. Served as a very good base for visiting the area. Relaxed atmosphere.

Too small a place for a guest lounge. Kettle was bit old with short lead but we coped. Otherwise all was very good and we enjoyed our stay.

The Chequers Inn was a gorgeous little Inn with fantastic food and a great history and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and parking was really easy. The standout was the food and service which was a real surprise it was so good. Location is superb- beautiful countryside.

The only downside for us was that the mattress was uncomfortable which made for less than comfortable sleeping. The wifi didn't work in the bedroom and the bedrooms were a bit small for a longer stay.

Parking can be slightly hazardous off the main road.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend: our room was extremely comfortable; the staff were very friendly and only too happy to assist; the food was fantastic, both in the evening and at breakfast.

The road the pub is on is fairly busy. It made for entertaining viewing, as we watched manic drivers and motorcyclists perform risky overtaking stunts. Don't let it put you off though; the pros outweigh this one con; we had a fabulous weekend break!

The size of the room and the quality of the food.

The teabags in the room - tasteless - maybe very old. The fact that dining tables were 'pre-selected.' Would prefer to choose one's own.

The staff are warm and friendly and go out of there way to address any issues. Great food in a comfortable local inn environment.

I would like to see a bigger range of real ales.

Lack of a comfortable lounge - The bar/restaurant was the only public area and all tables were laid up for food. Our bathroom had a damp smell probably because the bath seal was failing. There was no opportunity to visit other pubs/restaurants without driving.

Bedroom was cold. The heating doesn't come on until 5.00 p.m. and it takes a long while to warm up.

Found the main bar, where we had an excellent dinner, a little chilly after about 9.30pm.

The food was outstanding. Pleasant country pub. Beds were very comfortable. The room was a fair size.The pub was well situated to see the attractions of the area. The staff were excellent.

Bathroom was very small but was adequate what spoilt it was the lax cleaning regime. The shower needed a good clean it was very grubby in places. Our handbasin wasn't cleaned during the three days we were there. Bins in the bathroom and the bedroom were not emptied. Beds were not made properly.
