The Chudleigh is conveniently situated in the centre of Clacton on Sea, near the main shopping centre, pier and seafront gardens.

Established by the current family in 1963, its unique architecture makes this popular guest house a town landmark. Pleasantly informal service and superior accommodation is offered in immaculately kept surroundings. Hosts are fluent in French and Italian. Open to the leisure and business visitor, the Chudleigh offers an extensive English breakfast menu.

Please be aware that The Chudleigh has no lift and is strictly non-smoking throughout.

Following the reorganisation of the criteria for quality standards, the former name of Chudleigh Hotel will now be known just as The Chudleigh. It has achieved a 4-star rating under the AA and National Tourist Board guest accommodation classification.

Area information

Beautiful golden beaches, a vibrant pier, leisure centre, attractive seafront gardens, sport on land and water, pleasure flights from Clacton Aero Club and nightlife, which is as lively or relaxing as you wish it to be; its all here. The Princes and West Cliff Theatres provide the venues for spectacular shows and events and attract top showbiz names.

If a few hours shopping is your ideal way to relax, then you will not be disappointed with the range of shops in the town centre. Nearby Great Clacton also hosts a range of independent shops and Clacton Factory Shopping Village is a must, with shops offering discounts of up to 60% on high street prices.

Clacton also hosts an array of events taking place throughout the year including a 2 day Air Show, carnival and jazz festival.

The hotel was very clean and of a high standard. The location could not be better, as it is a short stroll from both the station and the beach. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel.
