Great room, nicely decorated, fantastic breakfast, honesty bar
Uninformed staff, could not tell me anything about public transport i.e. Told me he always takes his bike and when travelling abroad looks everything up on forehand by himself.. Weird!
Amazing characterful place to stay in Camberwell. Restaurant is amazing!
Location and the continental breakfast. The staff were all welcoming too. we also liked its quirkiness.i.e the Spanish decor
Too easy to get lost inside the hotel. It is a bit like a rabbit warren of staircases and corridors
Liked the place the moment we walked in. The staff were very helpfull. You could help yourself to Tea, coffee, etc. even alcoholic drinks, and just leave your room number! Room was well stocked with water, towels and toiletries. Loved the decor of the room and bathroom. The bed was the most comfiest we have ever slept in. Superb.
No parking. We were told it was ok to park to the side of the hotel, on Saturday night, but in the morning we had a ticket. There is parking nearby, but you have to look for it.
Lovely Staff, great restaurant and basement bar. Great location for Brixton Academy. Will use again and again when visiting that area.
Decor Honesty bar staff
unable to try restaurant but will next time
The restaurant facilities were very good
The honesty bar, decor, and comfortable bed!
The room was 5 feet wide and 7 feet long. I could touch both walls. And, it was £90/night without breakfast. To be honest, I stayed in a capsule in Tokyo that had more space and was cheaper.
The services, polite way of addressing the customer, the hospitality and the location of the hotel which to me is central.
Boutique oasis in Camberwell with nice restaurant attached.
Not great for transport links
Nicely decorated hotel, helpful staff (the lady even helped me to bring my heavy suitcase up to the top floor, thanks!), very nice welcoming details in the room, reasonably sized room, free tea and reasonably priced croissants in the lobby. I had a room with a shared bathroom, which was ok - it was very near to the room, it was clean and at all times unoccupied. Very nice selection of toiletries. Free wifi, which worked perfectly. PC in the ground floor. As I used public transport, the bus stop was very near (3 mins walk) and had good connections with the central London.
A lot of narrow stairs, no elevator - difficult, if you have heavy luggage. The stairs are also confusing in the beginning - I got lost a couple of times and could not find my room, signs with room numbers would help. I would also recommend to install hangers in the shared bathroom. I did not like the area where the hotel was situated - as a solo traveller did not feel safe there in dark hours. The hotel itself was safe. The underground station is too far to walk, can be reached by bus, if necessary.
Quirky, great welcome. Good breakfast. Individual rooms
Bit noisy from outside - sirens, etc.
very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant food was very good.
Would have bought a print but too expensive!
Good standard, comfortable accommodation. Nice day room too.
Camberwell is still in need of a bit of a clean up but the hotel itself is very good.
We can only agree with other opinions, this is a very good hotel we will definitely be back.
- good connection by bus to central London; - very nice restaurant (Angels & Gypsies) with superb breakfast; - very nice decorated; - nice "living room"/ lobby
- bit noisy; - beds are quite small for 2 persons; - nothing to do in rhe direct neighbourhood
Decor, the continental breakfast was very good and included egg, nice Greek yogurt, croissants, pastries and home made marmalade and preserves. Very lovely large fluffy towels, free shampoo, gel and body lotion and a beautifully tiled bathroom, and good TV. Also very clean.
Room a bit small, and the a/c needs looking at. Also the doors were slamming early in the morning. Silencers would be nice! I would go again though, a very nice little hotel.
Good atmosphere, very friendly and lots of little touches such as fresh flowers in the rooms, chocolates and lovely fluffy towels. This is not a sterile group hotel but has loads of character with an identity of its own with its Mexican theme
If you are disabled there is no lift but staff were very accommodating in organising a ground floor room
Staff was excellent and specially at the Angels & Gypsies restaurant, best food in London all homemade-organic, mouthwatering
Friendly staff, cleanness, good service.
Neighborhood area is quite slummy and sometimes feels scary in the night. Room was quite small. But it's good choice for that money.
The staff was friendly and nice
They were overbooked and they offered to me a creepy place in another place with apartments
Great style, helpful staff, good value for money
food was great, room was cozy, staff were really helpful and friendly, I highly recommend it!
- Staff was really helpful and decent. - Location is not very far from central London. - Despite the fact that I booked a room with a shared bathroom, the bathroom was very clean. - It was OK to leave my luggage after check out for several hours inside the hotel.
- no elevator in the hotel. - the first night I found a living spider under my bed.
Cleanliness. Detail of bottled water left in the room everyday with some nice chocolates. Towels were replaced everyday. Excellent location if escorting patients to nearby hospital. Lots of restaurants in the area.
Room ridiculously small. Only just enough room to walk around the standard double bed. No room to place luggage. For a mature couple with suitcases it was nearly impossible to go up two flight of narrow steep stairs, let alone come down with them. For a 5 day stay so far out from London price was steep, as their is nothing much around.
