The hotel location was exactly what we were looking for with plenty of great walks. The food was excellent
pleasant staff excellent food beautiful surroundings/ easy access to local villages ideal for couples
cold building a lot of noise for pub/restaurant in evening therefor not really suitable for a young child
Pleasant environment Excellent food Conveniently located for Chipping Campden
Unable to check-in before 18.00
Noise on first night, a band were playing so no sleep till 12.30 and had to eat at 7pm so we were in our room all evening with dismal lighting from wall lights. No bedside lights, no telephone, supposed to be a superior room but very basic.
The ambience, very Cotswoldy, the staff friendliness and the wonderful breakfast, especially the porridge
My room was a bit chilly late at night - it was the first real frosty night of the year, my sister and brother-in-law paid for an above standard room but it was not as good as my standard room.
We loved the classic old style pub, especially when the log fire was lit in the evening. Lots of atmosphere with interesting photos on the walls. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, especially the freshly cooked -to -order breakfast.
Our room was a superior double and was perfectly comfortable but it wasn't quite of the standard shown on the website. The stair carpet up to the rooms was very dirty but we were told that the chefs go up there to rooms and the carpet gets greasy. It is repeatedly replaced and is due to be done again soon
Very friendly and helpful staff; excellent food and wine at reasonable prices; lovely location
Initial entrance to room could have been spoiled by grubby stair carpet but we have stayed previously and knew the room at the top would be cosy. The carpet is about to be replaced we were told.
Food was good and staff were very friendly.
Stair carpet was in need of a good shampooing.
Staff food ambience
The food was excellent, both the traditional, cooked to order full English breakfast, and the evening meal - fabulous food. The pub was truly olde-worlde and had excellent real ale on sale
Our room had no wardrobe; only a few hooks on the wall with some coathangers.
High quality food, lovely country pub with lots of character. The room was nicely done with a lovely view, very clean and nicely decorated.
Room was on the small side with an extremely soft mattress. The pub is not in walking distance of chipping Campden.
Lovely room with views over open countryside.
Limited menu for a Vegetarian and quite pricey.
Rural location , fabulous food and serves a good pint !
Comfortable bed and food good.
No phone in room for emergencies as there was no mobile signal. Windows permanently open and impossible to close. No hairdryer, video or cafetiere as stated on your website. Very noisy bedroom till early hours. No shaving mirror in bathroom and mirror in bedroom in dark shadow. Toilet cistern took ages to refill and shower pressure inadequate. Staff weren't welcoming and felt as though we were just tolerated.
The staff were extremely pleasant and the food was excellent.
Was kept awake by noisy machinery possibly the cooling unit.
Lovely little village and the location was excellent for exploring the Cotswolds. The staff were friendly and the food was very good. View from the room was lovely.
The stair carpet leading to the accommodation area was filthy dirty. The room was clean but outdated, and had the look of an unloved spare room that had been furnished with mismatched cast-offs (e.g. An oversized lamp base with a shade way too small and a lovely old radiator with badly chipped and scuffed paintwork) and was totally devoid of the 'finishing touches' that you would expect. The en-suite also suffered from the same tired appearance with a shower that didn't work properly, the water running at extreme temperatures - scalding hot or freezing cold and no happy medium to be found!
Staff & food excellent. Close to Hidcote and Kiftsgate gardens which is why we stayed there.
pleasant staff good food and a clean room
Friendly, good food, value for money
Food was good, lovely location and room a good size.
Staff were very inattentive. We had a meal first night and had to get menus and drink from the bar. At breakfast first morning food put on table and not asked if we needed anything so no mustard for suasage and no-one around to asl for more coffee or toast.
I liked the quiet, the rooms, the staff and the food was delicious
the breakfast needs to be started a little earlier as stopping for business 8.30am is a little late for a start to a work day
Vicky was welcoming from day 1. The food we ate at breakfast and at night was superb. Room was comfortable and well equiped. Inn was well positioned for expliring the Noth Cotswolds. We really enjoyed our few days stay.
Friendly staff, beautiful view from my room, good breakfast.
Breakfast not before 8:30
