Ease of access into York and surrounding attractions. Additional on site parking very helpful! Also the hotel holds some very interesting history in relation to Churchill. I would opt for a larger room on my next visit. |

The location is ideal, only a short walk to the centre of town for bars, shops and restaurants and of course sight-seeing. |

I loved the hotel! Room was small but it was the last room left to book for that weekend. Was spotlessly clean. Staff at breakfast were a little miserable but maybe that was because they had been there since 7am! The price, I've stayed in a 4* hotel that was only £5 extra and we had breakfast included, whereas here you had to pay separately for your breakfast. |

Our room and bed were comfortable, and there were lots of helpful staff. I found the room price a bit high but York is a tourist town. I suspect the hotel wants to be four-star but the rooms and (nicely modernized) bathrooms might be a bit too small. I was annoyed that the girl at the desk encouraged us to eat dinner there (there was a good price on the early special) and then it turned out the small dining room was full and we had to eat at a not very good pub down the street. She should have told us to reserve. On the positive side, we were not charged for a toast and coffee breakfast (we didn't want a big meal.) |

We stayed in a room called Number 10 Downing Street and there were lots of portraits of Churchill and lots of history. It felt very special and was decorated in a modern way but keeping all the beauty of the historical setting. The food was lovely - the best lemon meringue I have ever tasted. The room could have been a bit more spacious. |

The hotel was quite contemporary quite was nice but also had character in the old part. The double room we were given was very small and considering we were there for 2 nights was not really acceptable. You also couldn't see the TV from the bed very well as it was at an angle and there was no where to put bags and the only place to get undressed was in front of the bathroom door as there was no room anywhere else in the room (this wasn't really appropriate when someone was in or... |

I liked Yvonna, the person that checked us into the hotel. She was very helpful with our plans for our stay in York. We also enjoyed the dinner in the restaurant and the free internet!! Our room was small. |

Lovely, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Easy parking. Was a little disappointed to be given a room designed for people with restricted movement. The taps were difficult to work and there was no surface space around the sink. |

Solicitous staff, convenient location, car parking, clean and comfortable rooms, good food, attractive public spaces, pleasing ambience. Would have liked the bedroom and bathroom to be bigger. |

My friend and I stayed at this hotel as a treat to ourselves for our birthdays. We had a great time and the hotel was more than we hoped for. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel and the room was excellent! The staff were very polite and helpful, definately one of the best hotels I`ve stayed in. I will be staying here again. 10 out of 10 |

Location is ideal for York town centre. Air-conditioning was noisy and there was no way of manually stopping it. We used ear plugs to solve the problem! |
