The Churchill Hotel    

Staff were very friendly and accommodating when we needed to check in a little earlier. They were also very helpful and did a great job for a wedding luncheon we had there .

The rooms were just a bit on the squeezey side. There was no proper place to put cases, a helpful suggestion would be to have narrower shelves in the wardrobe then the case stand would fit in with the case out of site.

Friendly staff, efficient booking/checking out, clean, modern room, excellent buffet lunch for 35 guests, pleasant surroundings.

No real lounge - just the bar with bar seating but not really a problem.

Service and Meals are excellent. Location is very good for city center.

Sizes of the "Executive" rooms are too small and therefore very cramped for two people. Fine for single persons and very clean.

Location was fantastic rooms on offer were brilliant lots of tourist information leaflets. Staff were really friendly and informative and very helpful nice modern rooms with enough luggage space. Hot chocolate tea and coffee and buscuits refilled daily.

Staff front desk not always manned, only one member when it was meaning only one set if customers could be served, having to wait. No mini fridge in the room.

A beautiful hotel in an ideal location. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

The location was perfect for access to all city sightseeing and attractions. The bar staff--Margie and Breakfast staff--Helen were incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. The hotel was worth staying at. Would not recommend for small children--I had teenager and it was perfect. We would stay there again!

Don't stay in rm. 115 as it has a dreadful boiler room noise. The machine drones all night. We had to be moved for the following nights stay. The hotel was accommodating in moving us to a fantastic loft room with a skyline window.

The room was very nice, the location close to city centre. Went to the restaurant and couldn't fault the food it was excellent.

Noisy trains running close by had to close windows but could still hear them. Needed more light near door way.

Staff were superb and all the food we had in the hotel was very good. The staff made the 4 day trip a joy. The loyalty programme was a wee bonus also. thanks Iain Lindsay

Room was a bit small, but we were out all day and just used it for sleeping in, so it was fine.

It was a short walk into York and easy access to the Minster restaurants.

The executive rooms should be for one executive staying on business expenses and not a couple wanting a good night's sleep (4ft 6in bed in about 6x10ft of space). The spa shower had a very poor overhead shower, none of the body jets worked and so we ended up just using the hand held shower head.

Good location

It was disappointing that the bedroom (no 128) was smaller than the website photograph indicated. Full account was taken off credit card immediately on arrival instead of departure.

No view in room with only a Velux sky-light.

Very close to the centre of York, lovely and clean, staff friendly and polite. Conveniently located for bars, shops, restaurants.

Pot holes in carpark resulting in me falling, hitting cheek off concrete and cutting hands, knee and elbow. Shower didn't work properly and had no power in the jets.

locality fantastic, easy parking, helpful friendly staff, very clean and modern room.

not enough tea bags left in the room only 2 and used them for morning cuppa, room was a little smaller than would have prefered.

The room was a dated Transylvanian horror, black plastic four poster with sharp edges, dark decor as was much of the rest of the hotel. What a waste of a lovely building. Dinner expensive, we didn't bother. Breakfast extra, we had a reduced price (to £5 each) Continental. That this was offered without prompting should tell you something.
