The room was adequate and cosy plus the breakfast was very good.
I had a "compact double room" the bedroom was plenty big enough...
...but the bathroom was far too small. It was very awkward getting from the toilet to the washbasin and I nearly got poked in the eye by the shelf above the washbasin.
Location Parking Cleanliness Friendly staff
Room was a little small Bathroom cramped Breakfast was slow to arrive
My wife and I needed a short break after a difficult year with family illness. This was just what the Doctor ordered. We stayed for 3 nights from Saturday 18th October. The hotel was beautifully decorated, lovely bed linen and so clean and a great choice of a healthy breakfast including lovely cooked English bacon and egg!. Wonderful touches of providing clean towels, tea making facilities and biscuits, a fridge and toiletries. Thank you both and all your staff for making our stay so nice and relaxing and we will definitely be staying with you again next year. John and Bernadette x
The sink in the en-suite was a little too large for me to squeeze past to use the toilet. but this may be due to the large breakfast you provided causing me to put on weight! I am sure that you will have tis in your plans. Even though we did not feel it necessary to make any complaint we thank you so much for putting us into a larger room without us asking.
The staff were helpful polite .We got an upgrade without asking as the Hotel was not busy. Excellent value for money. The Room was clean and quiet . Breakfast was excellent value and fresh food.
The breakfast was generous and a good variety however could use a bit more organisation for the cooked breakfasts to avoid delays.if delays are happening it would be helpful to inform the guests so they can decide if they want to wait
Close to the town. Breakfast excellent and the staff very courteous and friendly. The pool looked very inviting but we didn't get chance to go in as we wanted to visit places we hadn't seen for 30yrs. Also free carpark.
In the room we had the bathroom was a bit of a squeeze but we booked last minute, it was clean and manageable.
The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was amazing
The room was very compact but it was clean and tidy
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was far superior to hotels double the price. Quiet location.
Room No 10, was a little small, opening of the doors to the wardrobe and the toilet were restricted by bed and dressing table. Shower floor was open to the whole room, leaving floor completely wet for anyone wishing to use the toilet or sink after.
The flexibility of owners ,they even let us use the bbq around the pool an provided the charcoal .Nice Bar ,Room was on small side but that's what we paid for an it was lovely .Very good Breakfast an fresh fruit every morning .enjoyed our stay .
Only down side was our room was near main road and entrance to hotel so noise earl morning an late evening ,but didn't spoil our stay will just request a room at back next time .
Breakfast and staff were really nice. Location was good too.
The toilet and shower area in our room was very small and for a woman was not quite what we expected. The heating was not on and it was pretty cold in outpr room.
A good weekend away
The staff were good at there job. And keeped a Lowe prof
Food very good nice room good outside heated pool staff very good
Staff were polite and curtious. Room was big and airy. Faccilities in room were good. breakfast was fine.
Breakfast times were too tight. Bar closed too early. Room no.2 although big and airy could do with a lick of paint and some black out blinds.
Staff efficiency and friendliness, all equally cheerful and impressive. Good location for all those who can walk up a hill. Good fresh breakfast with plenty of choices. Plenty of space in room 7.
Bit of road noise at the front of the building (due to fairly central location and preference for an open window).
The 4-star rating shown is just a joke. I would say that 2-stars is more correct. But I liked the Guest House anyway.
Our stay at the Cimon Hotel was excellent.we stayed in the compact room which was small but enough only problem was bathroom very small excellent breakfast all staff very helpful and location good will be going again .
Good choise of food Good parking Location near town centre
Small bedroom Very low showerhead in wet room No lift Dinning room in basement
We had a wonderful friendly welcome.
The size of the room and the so called 4 star rating ! We had a wonderful friendly welcome but then had to climb up many stairs . The room was so tiny it was difficult to move around, definitely only one person at a time ! How it had 4 stars is a mystery ? We stay in a lot of hotel and some 3 stars have been amazing, especially Best Western and when asked why only 3 stars we've been told because there is no lift or safe ! Well this hotel had neither ! It was like staying in a B&B!
Good position and outlook across the bay but somewhat difficult to locate so close to the intersection with the one-way street (and sign behind a bush). Otherwise the staff were polite and attentive and the facilities were very good. Also close to Royal parade & center of town. Breakfast was very good.
Shower recess was a little cramped against toilet (wonder how larger people would cope).
on the whole the service was good and the breakfast
we felt the room we had was far to small to be a double but the view was good
I loved the old features in this building; high ceilings, period details, quirky old building.... we swam in the outdoor heated pool on 25th and 26th September, absolutely lovely. Food is excellent, freshly prepared fruits and full English - no re-heated food. The staff obliged us by ringing taxis, bringing extra towels, etc
I found the noise from main road affected my sleep but a packet of ear plugs in Boots sorted that! The ensuite is very small and not sound proofed. But this proved a very enjoyable stay for us, despite my reservations of traffic noise. Very good value for money, excellent location
All good overall. Wonderful staff and breakfast.
The wet rooms for showering antiquated and the only reason I wouldn't go back for. If had a shower tray no probs but wet room let it down! Wifi hit or miss!
The view, the pool (we used it 4 times), the spacious rooms (we had booked a standard room but got a family suite of 4 rooms including a spacious main bedroom with lounge area that contained a comfortable 4seater sofa as well as the usual furnititure). When we saw the second bedroom with its own bathroom, wardrobe table, drawer unit and bunk beds we wished we had been able to bring our grandchildren but they had to be at school! Breakfast was wonderful, with cooked items of our choice prepared while we ate cereal / fruit / yogourt / toast to our hearts content. Our room overlooked the pool and if we were hot after walking up the hill (not strictly neccessary as the number 12 bus stops a few yards up the road) we would change in our room and swim for a while. Local shops could be reached easily via the multi-story car park across the road.
The two nearest weatherspoons stank! If you arrived at the Harvester after 5.30 you might have to wait up to an hour to get a table (not surpising as it was good food served in an excellent location on the sea front).
Very polite and helpful staff, we enjoyed our stay.
I booked this hotel because it seemed centrally-located for a number of places I wanted to go in Torquay. It wasn't exactly close to any of them but a short walk. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very generous and offered a good selection. The price seemed reasonable. I didn't have time to use the pool but it looked pleasant.
It is more like a guest house than a hotel. You have to ring the front buzzer to be let in when you first arrive. My room (6) got some traffic noise with the window open but was reasonably quiet with it closed. This was fine in September when the weather was cooler but could have been a problem in hotter weather. But I could hear a fair amount of noise from the hallway and room above me. There is not much in terms of attractions, shops or restaurants in the immediate area although there are some a few blocks away and lots available with a longer walk.
