the whole place looking like a blackpool sea front hotel from the 80's it was clean the beer was good but expensive for Scotland
the look of the receptionist, could of done with a shower. Just looked dirty
Best location, being situated in the city center at the bottom of the High Street, close to Dunfermline and Abbey and Pittencrieff Park (a very large park with woodland walks, gardens, play parks, the Peacock Cafe etc.) Staff were extremely pleasant and polite. The room was very clean and simple. It was very warm. The shower was great and the bathroom was spotless. There was a flat screen TV on the wall with digital TV, lots of channels. All the facilities you would expect including tea / coffee making facilities, clean and fresh towels etc. There is a very good bar in the City Hotel, which is very popular on the weekends and sometimes has karaoke etc. The price also includes breakfast too, so offers great value for money too. All in all, got a great night's sleep and we were very happy with our stay. Would definitely stay there again in future.
I can honestly say there was nothing I didn't like about this place.
friendly staff, free breakfast, clean and with a lovely bathroom
standard single room was clean, tidy, warm. night porter was in attendance. Breakfast staff were helpful with prompt service, full breakfast cooked on request rather than buffet style. Location was within walking distance of Dunfermline Town railway station with theatre as a mid-point.
Room 9 only drawback was a humming sound from outside either a fan or generator, however slightly deaf therefore not too much of a problem. Note this was mid-week the hotel itself could be noisier at the week end.
Price and location
Too much noise.
Convenience to Dunfermline and the surrounding area. Friendly staff and nice rooms
Small window in room 31
Bed was small but very comfy. Had a great nights sleep. Location was very good too.
Shower was a bit dated.
being woken @ 5.11am on a sunday morning as night porter was asking if a passport was left in a drawer from a guest that stayed there the previos tuesday
Food was excellent especially breakfast.
The single room wallpaper was scuffed. Needs redecoration
Very scruffy hotel could do with complete revamp.Tiny window in bedroom.I booked two doubles and single they were all bad but single was worst.Would not want to stay here again.
Able to walk to Theatre, restaurants, shops etc. Great for budget accommodation. Nice Breakfast.
Room was over hot for sleeping! Adjusted radiator, still hot.
Breakfast good, location good for town centre.
Hotel tired and decor/furnishing tatty. Reception staff not welcoming, although lovely in restaurant and night porter very friendly.
Great location, great staff and great food
Bar will get very busy in the evenings. Might not suit everyone for that reason.
thr room we had - 31 - was virtually brand new. very warm though! meals good and service good
no lift! long walk upstairs from car park. carpets were a bit shabby in public arrears
Definatly not worh 3 stars rating, rooms badly in need of refurbishment.. The curtains were hanging off the rail and would not close properl, paper hanging off the wall.. Not nice!!
Good breakfast. Excellent Wifi Location great
The size of the room. The excellent food The friendly and accommodating staff. Comfortable bed. Good en-suite facilities. Being large enough to accommodate most of our family.
Not being able to open the window in our room. The noise from other residents. The noise from outside.
The room was spacious and clean, restaurant good and location good
The City is very conveniently situated and it's very reasonably priced. The room and bathroom were very clean. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our room (no 8) was above a very noisy bar which had karaoke going on till midnight. We were also above the kitchen service area with it's very noisy ventilation unit, which switched off when the bar emptied and started again at 6am when breakfasts started. We also had bottles being thrown out after the bar closed. The room was also stiflingly hot with the windows wide open and no heating on. The reception was often unattended even though we were assured it was 24 hour.
Room very good
Breakfast service was extremely poor. No order of tea or coffee taken. Had to ask for toast and knives and forks. Plates were thrown down. Let down our otherwise very good stay
Location Price BREAKFAST Parking
All was Good! Lovely Staff!
Like any Hotel in the centre of a Big Town or City....a lot of noisy over refreshed people at night and early morning.....it can't be avoided ...not their fault
The hotel was easy to get to . The staff were excellent, the food was good & it was excellent value for money.
The mattress was too soft for my liking, but I'm only nit picking here.My only other complaint was the noise from the bar below. But in my case,I'm only a grump because I had to be up & gone fairly early in the morning.
Price - much cheaper than hotels at Edinburgh airport Location - close to the airport
Had a flight Sunday morning and there was live music in the hotel up till midnight so no sleep. Flashing the toilet and using water equals lots of noise.
