The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The close proximity to the local pubs was great!
There were a limited amount of hotel car parking spaces! We had to park in the public at park (which is right next to the hotel) and pay up till 6pm. We were lucky that parking was free on a Sunday, so we didn't have to get up early to buy a ticket, but any other day of the week we would have had to!
We were in the room right up in the attic area, room 21, which is lovely and we were in the exact same room roughly about same time last year but it has been redecorated and is lovely but there is no mirror in the living area of the room.. only one in the bathroom.. last year there was a long one on the back of the door but has now been removed, apart from that the room and hotel us really good
Lovely room and nice shower/bathroom
Just the stairs, with a heavy bag it was a bit of a trek but the room standards made up for it
Central location, free car park, good breakfast, refurbished clean room, Hotel with charming character
Could have done with a hairdryer and mirror in the room, but was great value all the same!
I liked the bed and the bath
the only thing was there wasn't a lot of coffee in the room and some of the milk was turned
The reception & bar staff were very helpful & friendly.A homely feel to the hotel
Perfunctory and cheap, staff were lovely throughout and central location was ideal
Good location and OK breakfast.
Noisy rooms. First room single glazed facing Main Street. Paid extra £10 for upgrade to double but Karaoke noise was way too excessive. Night porter (who was helpful) moved me to another room where you still heard the noise but was better. Also didn't get a parking space as advertised..no need to book!
Staff were excellent and were very friendly as a wedding venue was perfect
No mirror in bedroom
Proximity to local amenities, the full Scottish breakfast, free wifi
Clean and tidy and warm.
So many stairs
Room freshly decorated and very clean Good breakfast with quick service Good value for money
Nice big room although the layout could have been better, food was good and staff efficient
The disco on the Saturday night, could not sleep for the noise
In the centre of Dunfermline it is ideal if going out in the town. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was good.
The hotel is a bit tired and the bars are busy in the evening with non-residents.
I struggled with my internet. But I most probably didn't read instructions :) I had a pleasant stay.
Staff very friendly and breakfast quick and amazing choice
Combed ceiling in bedroom difficult to get in to bed
breakfast, the room, staff,location
wifi signal was weak
Great location for the shops.
The room looked over the street and had single glazing so I was woken at 3am with people speaking in the street, 4am with a beer delivery & from 6am with traffic noise!!!
I use this hotel on average every two months. Staff are always welcoming and go out of their way to be helpful. The resturant serves high quality food at very reasonable prices and customer service is five star. The rooms are always very clean and housekeeping staff are very friendly
Staff were very good
Full Scottish breakfast - poor. Not what I would call executive room. Holiday Inn just as good
the whole place looking like a blackpool sea front hotel from the 80's it was clean the beer was good but expensive for Scotland
the look of the receptionist, could of done with a shower. Just looked dirty
Best location, being situated in the city center at the bottom of the High Street, close to Dunfermline and Abbey and Pittencrieff Park (a very large park with woodland walks, gardens, play parks, the Peacock Cafe etc.) Staff were extremely pleasant and polite. The room was very clean and simple. It was very warm. The shower was great and the bathroom was spotless. There was a flat screen TV on the wall with digital TV, lots of channels. All the facilities you would expect including tea / coffee making facilities, clean and fresh towels etc. There is a very good bar in the City Hotel, which is very popular on the weekends and sometimes has karaoke etc. The price also includes breakfast too, so offers great value for money too. All in all, got a great night's sleep and we were very happy with our stay. Would definitely stay there again in future.
I can honestly say there was nothing I didn't like about this place.
friendly staff, free breakfast, clean and with a lovely bathroom
standard single room was clean, tidy, warm. night porter was in attendance. Breakfast staff were helpful with prompt service, full breakfast cooked on request rather than buffet style. Location was within walking distance of Dunfermline Town railway station with theatre as a mid-point.
Room 9 only drawback was a humming sound from outside either a fan or generator, however slightly deaf therefore not too much of a problem. Note this was mid-week the hotel itself could be noisier at the week end.
