An excellent choice for anyone wanting to take their dog with them on a short break, they only charge £5 per day extra which in comparison to travelodge who charge £20 is very reasonable. The hotel rooms are basic but fine for the price and you won't get a better sea view even at double or treble the price (we were in room 21). The owners are very friendly and competent, the breakfast was good and the bar meal we had was tasty and reasonably priced. We managed to get a parking spot right outside the hotel which cost £2.50 for 2 days. If we visit Scarborough again we would definately consider staying at the Clarence Gardens again. Das Hotel ist Tier freundlich, liegt direkt am Strand und Preis- leistungs Verhaeltnis stimmt.

The location of this hotel was very nice and walking distance of the beach and town etc. It was very clean and also we liked the idea of the lift as we had a pushchair for our daughter. I would also like to say the manager and manageress Paul and Paula provide an excellent service and are very nice people.

The friendliness of the owners was second to none! They really went out of their way to make guests feel welcome. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. The stunning views from the bedroom window made the stay even more special. Thank you for your helpfulness and generosity! Only one small issue - that the shower ran out of hot water whilst half way through washing! bit of a shock to the system!!!

The staff were wonderful and so was the location. Our room had a fantastic view right over the bay and we managed to get parked right outside the hotel. The breakfast was good and the hotel was clean. The unfortunate thing was our beds were very uncomfy and in the bunk beds you could feel every spring the matress. I old recommend this hotel but the beds could e improved.

When we checked in Paula could not do more to make us welcome and to make our stay very enjoyable. Breakfast is not included but well worth paying for. I had the Continental breakfast which was buffet style and my husband had the full English (which also included the buffet) and was freshly cooked. Lovely view of the sea from the room. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable.

We stayed at the Clarence Gardens before Christmas as a family & everything was great. This time there were just the two of us and, again, everything was great. We were made to feel very welcome & Paula remembered us & asked how our house move plans etc were going (so it was obvious she REALLY remembered us rather than just being sociable). We really like the Clarence Gardens & recommend it highly.

Paula and Paula are excellent hosts - very friendly, homely atmosphere. Breakfasts are excellent value and will keep you going for the day. (Full English is £5.95 if booked the evening before and in addition you can make the most of a very varied Continental included in the price) A Pool table is available for use. The table requires levelling - thats the only reason I can think why my partner beat me!!!!! Seriously - Cannot think of any reason not to return.
