The seafront location was good. Bathrom fittings were poor. Bedroom needed to be redecorated. The first morning breakfast was overcooked. Overall not good value for money.

A traditional hotel with friendly, efficient staff. We had a very large room with fantastic views over Morecambe Bay. Breakfast was very good and we also enjoyed a lunch time bar snack, all with very fresh ingredients.

It catered for those needing a gluten free diet. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and efficient. We were particularly impressed with Ben and are very pleased that he is doing a hotel management course. We would love to stay in his hotel when he gets one of his own (if we are still around as we are not young.) I do not remember asking for a room with a sea view but we had one - lovely. On booking I was asked if we wanted no smoking which we had. The bathroom was exceptionally clean which we appreciate. Lastly, we wish the housekeeper well with the sale of her butterflies etc. Certainly we would stay again if we are in the area. Reservation about comfort is perhaps unfair as I have a back problem and the bed was absolutely fine so it was only the chairs in the lounge I did not like. I do prefer dining tables to have cloths in the evening but I am spoilt and for the price the tables and food were very good.

The hotel is on the seafront at Morecambe and has some lovely views over the bay. The food in the restaurant is very good, the staff are excellent too. Could do with a better choice of channels on the tv, but this is my only small critcism.

Breakfast Like the town in which it is situated, The Clarendon is very 'tired', and in need of major renovation, which I doubt it will receive.

It was ideally positioned near to the seafront and reasonably close to the town shopping area. It had a car park that was easily accessible it had a gift display area on first floor landing which had lovy handmade gifts. The bar area in the hotel was comfy and prices reasonable. There was a restaurant that was clean and a cellar bar that was all part of the same hotel. The staff were lovely. Like much of Morecambe, the beautiful elegance of the period has been allowed to lapse into senility. The hotel was tired. The carpet and curtains were tired, the basin was cracked. Service was slow.

One small incidence pleased me I left my signet ring on the bedside table when I returned the bedroom staff had covered it with a brochure. All the staff dealt with the guest`s in a friendly but respectful manner. This added to the ambience of the Hotel

This hotel was where I wanted and cheap. The Clarendon is getting a litle jaded and is frequented by contractors (presumably in transit or working at the nearby power stations in Heysham). My room was a little cramped and, as it was warm, I needed to leave the windows open. Unfortunately Morecambe is busier than you might think and there was traffic noise most of the night. It's not the Midland but it's not the price either.
