Breakfast was freshly cooked and very nice.
Room was a bit 'tired' with damp patch on wall / ceiling join. Shower leaked onto bathroom floor. The hotel side of the establishment requires a bit of redecoration.
Very friendly and welcoming staff, a comfortable, cosy, not too big hotel. Lots of character and tasteful interiors. Great location with lovely views.
Poor water pressure when flushing the lavatory. Room slightly on the small size, and the shower size small, but only because at home we are used to much bigger rooms and showers.
Evening meal was good standard Leiure faciites OK
Room tiny bed very uncomfortable Coffee at breakfast terribly weak and cheap, scrambled eggs cooked to death. Not asked how my stay was on check out
room, bed, atmosphere, food (it had a gym, pool, spa but didn't try them). Wifi in room was good, as was tea facilities
was a little noisy at night moving tables in restaurant at 11pm, but didn't bother me too much. Wifi in resturant was poor.
Staff were very helpful, Superb facilities, Excellent location, Superb food
Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Hotel decor is slightly tired.
Simply brilliant! Wonderful staff, fantastic food and grand rooms.....this made for a perfect stay.
I have just started using booking.com and feel that I always get the worse room, nears lift, worst view or something like that, is this normal
the pool, breakfast, reception
the bathroom was a bit tired and dim and the room was a bit cold (the radiators didn't come on until about 9.00pm)
Ambience and Health spa
Room was small for the price and the second bed in Sheldon room made it cramped
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast.
Room was on the small side
the staff at the Hotel made you feel very welcome and were extremely helpful. The food was good and the menu catered for even the most selective of diners.
Food excellent, very friendly staff, very good spa facilities
The stunning views The friendly, very beautiful staff. The quirky decorations in the lounge
Nothing to dislike
Noisy bedroom, constant hum of some sort of heating/ pipes
Big car park and huge room. Lovely receptionist very helpful
I'm an ex chef so call me picky but I thought the food left a lot to be desired, but that's just a personnel thing
Very helpful reception staff. Excellent gym/fitness facilities available. Good quality food.
Drinks prices quite high.
Location was absolutely stunning. Enjoy a drink outside admiring the views. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
My advice is to phone ahead rather than book online only, to check whether a wedding is taking place & ask for room to be in a quiet location. Staff are v friendly and I am confident they will give good information here. Room was not clean - v dusty bedside table lamps & hair dryer, sticky carpet near door and unmentionable 'bits' left on windowsill next to toilet. Cushions on bed were very worn. Bed was a small double & incredibly hard for our taste. A mattress topper was needed I think. Steam outlet in steam room (spa) was dangerously hot.
Wifi, Facilities, Breakfast
Price was a little high.
The room was massive, bed was super comfy. The setting of the hotel was amazing, rolling hills and beautiful countryside. lovely large gardens
willingness to accommodate our needs - booked a couple of treatments on arrival and was receiving these within an hour lovely back garden and summer house
time limit on use of spa facilities, actually 90 minutes was more than enough, but having a limit felt restrictive
Relaxing feel to the place and nice staff
DIRTY PILLOWS always pull off the pillow cases to see if its a good clean hotel[
