Relaxing and quiet, very friendly and helpful beyond the call of duty, would have no hesitation in reccomending the hotel to any friends and family.. Thank you for a great stay.. The only things I was a little unsure of was the early christmas celebrations at the end of october, a tad early I think, and no seaview disabled rooms,as was booked,

The hotel was fine, fantastic position overlooking the sea and almost within walking distance of town. This is not a family hotel, when we stayed there were three same sex groups staying, Hen and Stag Parties. This is fine except at 2am when they are very drunk and disturbing other guests.

Staff were really friendly and helpful, especially as we had a 3 month old baby in our party. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, but the food was good and plentiful.

Rooms are tiny. Pictures on booking.com make them look much bigger. Pool is in next door hotel. Ideal for stag and hen weekends. Rubbish for a romantic break.

We chose this Hotel for it`s location for the event we were visiting, but particularly for it`s price and the fact we could take our little dog. The staff were excellent and provided very well for our needs and we would certainly go there again as we regularly visit Bournemouth. My only criticism was the shower in our bathroom was a bit weedy ( no pressure ) and the bracket loose. I should have said something on checking out but as our stay all in all was very good it did`nt seem important at the time.

We were actually transferred to The Cunberland without any explanation so my comments are based on this experience. We were in a comfortable room but without hot water and above the disco hired for a wedding reception. We had no sleep at all the first night. Facilities were pleasant and hotel conveniently situated. Lack of parking spaces

Efficient booking in,friendliness of staff, reasonable dining facilities, close to all amenities and B.I.C. Beware of parking facilities, since it is "first come first served" we never managed to park on site over the whole weekend, although public parking is adjacent at a price, and this is very much used, with space near the hotel very difficult to find most of the time;would imagine that in popular season, would be very difficult to find at all,not pleasant when you are attempting to check in!

The location was wonderful and we had rooms with a sea view. The lift is very small, especially when you have cases. The walls are thin and therefore we were disturbed by other guests as they returned to their rooms. The double bed was small!!!!! Car parking is difficult but you can pay at meter to park on the road opposite.

Very friendly staff that were ready to help you anytime without hesitation, all of them, including bar staff. Nice and comfortable common areas (reception, bar and pool side terrace) and of course very good location. Maybe we were not lucky but our room had a strong smell of fresh paint (room 7). It was obviously just been given a fresh look and nicely decorated and in about a weeks time will probably be OK. We asked at the reception and were offered a different room that, unfortunately, has not undergone refreshment as yet. The room was good size but the window was sealed permanently and it was extremely hot, so we had to keep the door opened for most of the night. This was room number 8 that is also located on top of the hotel kitchen and from 7 am you can hear strong noise from kitchen extraction unit located just outside of room window.

Moved to the Suncliffe to tiny rooms. Not enough room to even pass one another. Family rooms were spread over hotel despite booking 3 months in advance and stressing in writing and by telephone that we required rooms in close proximity to one another. Rooms far too small. Made the travel lodge feel luxurious.

“This was our first trip to The Cumberland Hotel. What a delight! The Hotel is decorated In Art Deco style in vibrant Red, Black,Silver and Glass...STUNNING!! They have soft music in the background that relate to the time of day, very nicely slotting in to the mood changes as the day moves to night..Clever - rather than the usual "elevator" style that a lot of Hotel tend to have. Our welcome first kicked in when we checked in at Reception. The Receptionist was lovely, very friendly and helpful. We had only booked for one night but was able to stay on for another night with no problem at all. We were early so she took our bags from us and we were able to explore the Hotel. We had a sandwich and drink by the pool which was brilliant! The pool was inviting and the set up outside with the seating and tables was really nice. Everywhere we walked, the staff looked up and smiled, genuine welcome smiles not the plastic aloof smiles that are in so many Hotels these days! We ate in the Hotel on both our evenings. The Brasserie Grill one night and the Mirabelle Restaurant the other. The meals that the Chef cooked were delicious. Presentation and taste sublime! Service was superb in both places. Our room was spotless and very comfortable with the only downside being that we are used to a King size bed so the Double for us was small! Next time we are going for the Sea View with Balcony with the Kingsize bed! Breakfast was delicious with the usual Buffet Style on offer. If you wanted Kippers or something that was not the usual Full English, you only had to ask! I was a bit disappointed in the selection of fruit on offer. The choice of Prunes, Grapefruit and Melon is a tad outdated. Lots of places that we have stayed have a larger variety on offer ie: Kiwi Fruit/ Melon Selection/ Bananas/ Grapes etc with more of a choice in Yoghurts too. There was bowl of fruit available. We are definitely going back to this Hotel, we cannot praise it enough!!” Gerald, Yateley |
