Staff very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast and fresh fruit and real tomatoes much appreciated. Sea view wonderful.
Fan noises and creaking noises from above at night
Good location the restaurant was clean and efficient staff. T h e room had a terrific seaview, we could watch the air show from our hotel room.
The hot water in our room was only tepid and the loo did not always flush. We were on the fourth floor maybe that's why.
Wifi not available in room. Breakfast very poor: burned toast and sausages. Not sufficient parking place. Price/quality ratio, is too expensive. Is not a 3-star quality.
Room located to the rear where there are noisy flues/air-con units
Friendly staff hotel very clean
Rooms were too hot even though we were given a fan it didn't help... Rooms too small for price very expensive
Friendly, clean and comfortable and great location.
Very small elevator.
Can't fault the hotel or staff wonderful all round
We could use the facilities at the two neighbouring hotels as well meaning that we could walk between them so we had more choice of the facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were particularly impressed when we were late for the full English breakfast but one of the staff bought it back out to us without any problem.
The room we were in(127) had a sound of loud knocking at regular intervals which we realised was the lift going up and down which the room backed onto. However, as we were out and about a lot and it ceased during the night, it didn't cause too much of a problem.
Clean hotel, room cleaned daily, tea in room replenished daily, breakfast room decorated appropriately, location near sea & shops, staff very pleasant, decor nice, swimming pool & could use the indoor pool in neighbouring hotels, nice selection of breakfast food
Room very small, could not get wii- fi in my room, breakfast not hot anough, thought they could change fruit combination now & then as the fruit never changed, noise could be heard every night? Not sure if it was the lift being used or pipes ? Had one evening meal at hotel was not up to high expectations.
Room size, location within walking distance to town, comfort, parking on site
No coffee/tea facilities.
The see view and the breakfast
Decoration was not very beautiful
Location, the view from the room
great reception and staff with the upgrades
The lift needs to be upgraded
Breakfast was lovely
The bed was squeeky and the door was broken and didn't have a lock
NOTHING, except checking out.
The room was a shoe box, horribly decorated, unbearably hot and extremely shabby with dirty walls and bits of wallpaper hanging off, dirty threadbare carpets. The corridors and reception smells of cooked cabbage. The whole place seriously needs refurbishing or closing down. At £135 a night a total rip off. Do yourself a huge favour and steer clear of this hellhole.
A 3 star hotel, and it is. The rooms where a good size (we had sea views) and you had all you would need in them. The staff very helpful and all seemed to enjoy their work. We had a great bar meal (rump steak), so would recommend them. Breakfast good too.
Parking, we got a parking space the first night, but not the second. We had to park on the front. It cost £3 a night, so be warned, but plenty of spaces.
No Bathroom Blinds Curtains to bedroom window to small Constant screech from Kitchen extract unit until 22.00hrs outside bedroom window Cheap nasty cardboard packing protectors on all exposed wall corners and around window
Staff very helpful and friendly
Both mornings Breakfast food cold no one seem to check is was hot, plates were also cold. The little old, only, lift was very shaky could only carry 3 persons at a time and was so old you just hoped it would reach the correct floor, it also had carpet on the walls uck!
Possibly the one and main good thing about the hotel is its location. I'm with mixed feelings about the staff of the hotel. Waiting staff in the restaurant was rather good, receptionists were always different women who in General were fine though not that aware of what's on and clearly needed the assistance of a manager. Now as to the two managers in the hotel we met, my partner and I both agreed that one of them was exceptional and probably the only good thing about the hotel, whereas the other manager must have forgotten some of the basic rules in hospitality. I have studied hospitality and worked in the field but I have never come across a manager who would treat guests upon their arrival in such a way. The first few issues we discussed with him such as the lack of a fridge in the room (we had a family room) made him take a defensive position with some sort of arrogance in the background. He hardly tried to resolve the issue (yes, we were given a bucket of ice to keep my toddler's milk chilled, but mind you in this hot weather that ice last 2-3 hours so imagine what you need to go through in your holiday...) as a matter of fact, this manager kept finishing every statement of his with the annoying 'alright' making you feel everything but understood and cared after. In contrast, the second manager we met the day after suggested more options as to keep our goods in the hotel's fridges and overall he was very tentative and genuinely hospitable. Shame the first manager does not see his colleague as an example.
What we didn't like? So many things to be honest... I think we did have greater expectations due to the relatively good score on the website which now I consider misleading. Also, the pictures look too good and does not really represent the hotel, not at least what I viewed. The whole building is old as there is a crackling noise every other step you take. The hallways look very outdated with 20-year old carpet that stinks, our room furniture was very old and overused... Even the artwork was rather outdated and pale somehow. The bath towels are a joke really! The TV in our room stood out quite a lot, I injured myself a few times from it's inproportionate positioning. You can hear everything around you quite easily , including others taking shower and when cleaners Hoover around or above you it feels as if it's in your room... Certainly not good if you are after a nap or your child needs her nap. English breakfast is not my choice of breakfast so can't comment on that but the rest of the options were rather scarce and of low quality. The bread looked like the cheapest available option from the bread isle in a shop, just a few slices of cheese and ham which did not look fresh, loads of canned sugary fruits and almost no fresh fruits. Speaking of sugar, it is hard to find brown sugar in there... As if it wasn't enough, there was party going on during our second and final night. The clear lack of sound insulation resulted in us hearing the singer so well (we were in the first floor) as well as the bass pumping off the furniture. Needless to say, that caused troubles to our child to fall asleep. We asked to possibly be moved elsewhere but the hotel apparently was full. We were even considering to leave off to London but our child was too tired and almost asleep so had to endure the last hour of the party. Though I have lots of respect for elderly people, I must say that they dominate greatly the guests of the hotel.
