breakfast first class with plenty of choice room large & very clean.

opening windows did not shut tight draughty & double glazing in main bedroom large sealed unit failed hence foggy poor visibility.

Breakfast was splendid. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. It is a magnificent building - some areas require upgrading but perfectly adequate and excellent value for money.

The staff were lovely , sea view room upgrade, very clean. Overall excellent value for the money. Most enjoyable. Thank you.

Unfortunately the tea was cold at breakfast, but you can not have everything for the money.

parking can be a bit of a nightmare at times. rooms are a little tired and need redecorating. windows dirty on the outside.

Room clean, spacious and comfortable! Big bath, good location, polite and friendly staff! Evening meal fantastic! £10 per person for evening meal with an all you can eat service of starters, main meals and puddings! Breakfast was full English, cereals, toast n jams, fruit and yogurt! Fully recommend the food!

Hotel is a bit worn out! Seems to be under some renovation but this did not affect our stay!

£6 reserved car space wasnt there first night but was sorted rest of stay didnt get me money back,

Bed was clean and comfortable 2nd room was clean and roomy Receptionist tried her best to offer us an alternative room

Reception was offhand Dinner was indifferent unlike Outside of building was shabby Fire escape was rusted and in places appeared to be holed. First bedroom offered was so small we had to squeeze round bed to get to window which was so low my husband had to bend head to look out of it.

Hotel needs redecorating and repairing desperately, plaster hanging off walls, our bedroom door didn't lock with a teaspoon in place to be able to turn lights on.

it was a building site all the halls were getting plasted all the floors were up hill un even only stopped one night but pay for two night the hotel is more like faulty towers

The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, food good and plenty of it altogether a good experience highly recommended.

Great staff, very friendly. Good location. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast good.

The room I was given was a 3 metre by 2 metre box. I didn't have the space to put my case on the floor. The room bore no resemblance to the photo provided on booking.com. The internet does not work above the first floor despite advertising wifi in all areas.

The price! Handy location. Bar and lounge in decent decorative order. Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Staff were friendly and down to earth.

Lift was a bit smelly and very tatty as were hallways and stairwells. They need to fix the toaster in the breakfast room. The shower could have done with a good scrub.

This Hotel is very tired and I wonder if it may be kinder to pull it down before it falls down

Straight forward booking Additional parking space reserved which again was easy to sort out Far cheaper than a nearby Premier Inn that did not include parking and a breakfast, so good value for the money.

Hotel needs a little attention to the quality of the finished décor. Building works were being carried out when we stayed so progress is being made. Need to address the squeaking floor boards everywhere

Being able to use the spa facilities at The Royal. The custmer service here was far superior than that in The Clifton.

The hotel was very outdated. It did not appear clean and there was clearly work going on with no apology notice anywhere to inform users.

Hotel appears to be being updated. Food was good as were catering staff.

Receptionist was terrible. Could not be bothered to get up to go to counter when we arrived. Extremely unfriendly and no idea how to welcome guests.

Breakfast- lots of choice, hot and full all the time Only paid £30 a night on bookings so great value for money, good quiet location which we just used as a base.
