We wouldn't really say it was 4 star though.

Breakfast wonderful location brilliant staff very friendly rooms spotless
Staff was very friendly, hotel was nice and clean,
Had a great weekend, fab location. Booked again for November. A+
Enjoyed our stay and the staff were very polite and friendly recommend this to anyone thinking of stopping here and also very near to all attractions
Just a little thing that we wasnt informed that the dressing table was situated right under the heat sensor so when my wife used the hair dryer it set off the alarm but apart from that perfect.
Everybody was very friendly, which also rubbed off on the guests. Nothing was too much trouble. I arrived late but I was still able to book an evening meal. I would definitely stay again.
This bed and breakfast was friendly welcoming really enjoyed our stay would highly recommend this bed and breakfast would use this again
Great hosts, Nic and Eddie are professional but really friendly and make you feel really welcome. The food was fantastic breakfast was top quality, we had the evening meal and it was 5 star restaurant class. Great location which is near all amenities. I would recommend the Clovelly to anyone and we will definitely be going back
Nothing comes to mind
Friendly staff and excellent choices at breakfast. Clean and beds, comfortable.
food was great staff were nice
The breakfast was very good.
Although the room had been booked and paid for a month in advance the young woman who came to reception seemed surprised when I handed her my printout of the booking. She disappeared with this and returned with an older woman who pointed to an entry on a page full of pencilled names in what must have been the booking register, and said "it's there" then disappeared again. We were shown to Room 7, which was small and had nowhere to store luggage. The decoration looked very tired but the bed looked nice with clean white sheets and plumped up pillows and cushions. However, these were hiding a very grubby bedhead which had black grease marks where previous occupants had rested their heads. Consequently, I covered the bedhead with a couple of the white pillowcases. After switching the light on we could see that certain areas of the room had not been cleaned - particularly the skirting board in the small area outside the bathroom as this had several weeks worth of dust. Although the bathroom appeared to have a new suite, the door into the bathroom had been made to fit by cutting two inches off each side - revealing rough chipboard. The doorframe inside the bathroom was new but had not yet been painted. Unfortunately, when I had a shower I was nearly scalded, because the temperature changed rapidly; I could hear someone in the neighbouring room was also having a shower so presumably their temperature control affected my shower. Also, there were three long dark brown hairs on the shower wall - from a previous user. Needless to say, we did not enjoy our stay and would not recommend this hotel.
location cleanliness breakfast
no drinks available for children in family room only tea and coffee (3 + 7 year olds dont drink these) 2 biscuits between 4 of us room quite small, ok for one night
Wifi didn't work in the rooms
Had a fab time, the hotel was right on the beach and the pier. The staff at the hotel went out of their way In making the stay great. Would certainly recommend and would definately return.
Cleanliness, friendliness of staff, having own small bar for guests.

Location Friendly Staff Great breakfast
Genuine hosts happy to help with special requests/accommodate guests wherever possible. Good rooms. Delicious breakfast.
Friday evening was very noisy (not the fault of The Clovelly in any way) so didn't sleep well.
nothing was too much trouble for the owners, the location was absolutely spot on, views from the family room of the sea front and pier... While I didn't realise I needed to reserve a parking space out back I managed to get one right outside the front door for £3 all day... Parked up and left the car there for the whole stay as everything was within walking distance.
Always struggle with finding anything my vegetarian daughter will eat and only offer from the lad serving was a veggie sausage so she was a tad hungrier than the rest of us.... The meat eaters brekkie was spot on though!
Genuine smiles, and hospitality, food fantastic and loads of it, rooms, bedding, bathrooms all spotless, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and kettle in room, and topped up daily, the owners, gyne, nic, and eddie could not do enough for us, eddie is a master cheff and the food he prepared was fantastic, all staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough for us, it was a fantastic holiday and they made it it very special for mum and i, it was like HOME FROM HOME, and although the hotel is classed at 4 stars, we got a 5 star welcome and service,, well done and a great big thank you to all at the clovelly, WE WILL BE BACK,,,,
