Score from 642 reviews Superb
We loved everything at this quaint but stylish property. The staff were lovely, the room was comfy, clean and plenty large enough with a nice modern bathroom. We had dinner there and enjoyed that and the breakfast was delicious!
To be picky we found the shower hard to turn on and difficult to turn off without getting cold water over you.
Room standard was excellent. The food on offer was also excellent. Great service and amenities.
Good food nice and quiet location very helpful staff
We liked the immediate warm welcome from the owner and friendly staff who were very accommodating. The bar was very quaint and cosy. The room was very suitable with a super comfy bed. Breakfast and food excellent and very good value for money. We had a lovely two night break. We will definitely return, hopefully in better dry weather!
The mini cab driver (from Burford) who wanted to charge £20 return into the village of Bourton which was a 5 minute drive! The shower head was broken, but worked suitably well. The television had a mind of its own and the picture and volume kept going on and off.
pleasant room, good size, nicely furnished. Nice welcoming bar and restaurant.
The only negative is that the bathroom could do with a bit of TLC,eg. chipped paintwork, shower knob very stiff, but otherwise, all was good.
Fantastic staff and delicious food as a woman travelling alone I felt safe and cared for.
Bed a bit lumpy the mattress obviously well used. Perhaps time for a new one?
Staff were fantastic
We weren't expected so booking .com hadn't passed details over. The room cleaning was only average ie towels in the bath weren't changed
Comfortable room Clean and spacious bathroom - with a bath!! Lovely food (breakfast and dinner) Amazing hospitality - very pleasant staff
Televison was a bit temperamental as was the shower, but manageable
Bourton on the Water is a stunning village so the proximity to this was good.
Road noise - On the main Stowe Road. Bathroom was hopeless! Impossible to control water temperature and pressure independently. This meant that to have a warm shower the water pressure was unmanageably high and the whole bathroom was wet as the small panel meant to contain the water was hopelessly inadequate. Needs to be replaced by a larger screen or a shower curtain. TV didn't work properly - every time we wanted to change channel the TV froze and needed to be turned off and back on, Bathroom floor and toilet not cleaned properly when we arrived. Rubbish bins not emptied during our 3 night stay even though the room was serviced. Spare pillows in wardrobe had hairs on them. We had breakfast there 3 times and not once did our order get done correctly. Waitresses need to write down the orders. Had dinner once in the restaurant - over priced and average in quality. No internet in rooms and not working properly in the lounge despite being told it would. Unable to contact hosts without going down a flight of stairs and across the car park - need a phone in rooms to communicate with management. Since staying we have read their online reviews and find that all our issues have been repeatedly mentioned and it is sad that these have not been addressed.
The Room, The staff, The food and location. Everything was great. We enjoyed a wonderful weekend, looking forward to going back again,
All round very good n
Very nice accommodation, reasonable price, centrally located to tour the Cotswolds
A good sized room, with good facilities with a comfortable bed.
We would definately recommend the Coach and Horses. The hotel is quite close to the road so traffic noise could bother some people. Wasn't a problem for us and we really enjoyed our stay. English breakfast was good though evening menu a little limited.
The food was good and the staff were friendly
The taps were too stiff for working the shower.
Really nice, modern & spacious room. Great location. Friendly staff. Cosy bar area which was not too busy. Food is nice but pricey.
Food is way too expensive. Breakfast doesn't begin until 08:30 which is too late in my opinion.
parking is easy and close to the down of Burton-on-the-water, food is good especially including free breakfast
maybe the outside is too cold, so a big mosquito fly in the room
Rooms were evey clean and spacious and the staff ver helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent.
When showing guests to the rooms the plumbing system should be explained carefully! The shower and bath run on separate systems which is not immediately obvious.
The coach and horses has a nice cosy pub and restaurant. We had dinner there and it was fantastic. As was the fry up the next morning, which wasn't greasy at all. The rooms are beautiful and a good size.
We stayed on a Saturday and there was a party on. The smoking area is literally outside the guests’ accommodation and with party goers spilling out of the pub either for fresh air or smoking, there was no chance of catching any sleep until the party finished after 2am. There was no apology the next morning, although after making a request for compensation we were given £20 refund. I felt that we should have been told about the party beforehand so that we could have made an informed decision about staying there. The shower could benefit with a replacement. I found the shower difficult to operate as it’s held rigidly in place by cables with water flowing in all directions bar where you want it. I also think the room may get very cold in the winter as there is a big gap (draft) at the door. Would I stay again? I think if there was no party on, I would consider it. However, with the location of the smoking area, it’s always going to be noisy. One would have to stay up till the pub closing time to enjoy a good night sleep.
The room was lovely, hotel easy to find with friendly staff and good food!
the room was lovely big and clean comfy bed - power shower good car park and even on the fose way room was quiet
due to gippo fair in local town restaurant was closed - only a choice of 4 currys ( fine if you like home made currys ) this is now a Wednesday night special - no starters - ( no Nan bread ) breakfast starts at 8.30 am ( I didn't read this when I booked ) was way to late for me so missed it - but couldn't check out till 8.30 as place was locked
not that easy to find.
Great proximity to both stow and Burton. good accommodations .
We had to depart very early in the morning and therefore could not rate breakfast. We requested some food we could take away but were denied and told to drink the coffee/tea provided in the room.
The room was a good size and comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed the good home cooked food. Very good selection of teas/coffees etc and toiletries.
Unfortunately in our room the television was very temperamental and the shower head was broken. Sound proofing to upstairs room was not so good.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food. Easy to find. parking next to the room.
Just a glitch with the TV during our stay, but we did not visit to watch tele!
Traveling with my parents, we had our own rooms. Rooms were spacious, (I had the two twin bed room) with good sized bathroom. The grounds were beautiful, quaint, and just what I imagined staying in the Cotswold's. The owner, and all the other staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing and we enjoyed our short stay. Highly recommend and would stay here again.
My parents bed was uncomfortable (in their own room) and the toilet in my bathroom did not flush well.
