Situated in Killin, one of the most attractive villages in Perthshire, you’ll have good access to the Highlands and islands, whilst remaining only 7 miles (11 km) from central Scotland. Close to the village’s beautiful Falls of Dochart, this area of beautiful countryside is ideal for walking, fishing and golfing.

The lounge bar is a centre of activity, with good home-cooked food and a good selection of real ales, fine wines and malt whiskies. A popular venue for live music (from April until October), you can be sure of an entertaining end to a day’s exploring the fantastic local scenery.

The Coach House Hotel is strictly non-smoking; with great views, feature beds, drying facilities, free hotel parking and Wi-Fi internet access.

The lounge bar offers a log-burning stove for those cold winter nights, as well as a pool table and plenty of board games. Weekly live music by local artists always proves popular.

For those who might prefer to relax in quieter surroundings, the residents’ lounge offers a selection of books and games, along with TV, DVD and an open fire.

There is an outdoor seating area for smokers, as well as those who prefer to eat al fresco.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is served in the light and airy dining room, with its ornate ceiling and views across the river and mountains.

Dinner is available in the lounge bar all day, from opening until 20:00. Alternatively, your meal can be served to you in the dining room (by arrangement).

These relaxing double and twin rooms have all been recently refurbished. Of the 7 rooms available, 5 include en suite bath or shower rooms. These bathrooms have all been replaced with modern white suites and high-quality finishes. All rooms are non-smoking.

Area information

Killin is well known for the River Dochart, since it is upon this that the famous Falls of Dochart rush through the village.

Walking is one of the main activities around Killin. Within a few minutes’ walk of the hotel, you can choose from loch-side rambles to challenging walks like Ben Lawers, one of the many Munros in the area at 3984 feet (1.2 km). Rob Roy Way – a new walking route – also passes through Killin.

Killin Golf Course is just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel and offers a challenging par 66 course.

If walking, golf or fishing are not to your liking, other activities include all-weather tennis, bowling, wind surfing, sailing, water skiing, clay-pigeon shooting, horse riding and cross-country skiing. Hire of equipment for all of the above is available locally.

During the summer, Killin has much to offer, including an Agricultural Show and Highland Games (one day only, in August).

An area steeped in history, amongst the many historic places to visit is Finlarig Castle, built in 1609 and former seat of the Campbells. The castle has a beheading pit where The Maiden - a guillotine – was used.
