Formerly a coach house built in 1890, The Coach House is situated in the heart of the Lake District and 2 minutes’ drive from Windermere town centre and the shores of Lake Windermere. An en suite shower room is included in each room at The Coach House, as well as a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Some feature cast-iron beds and antique furniture. A full English breakfast is served in the breakfast room/conservatory and includes local pork sausage. A continental breakfast of hot croissants and pain au chocolat are also on offer. The property can also offer packed lunches by arrangement. A local train service runs from Oxenholme station to Windermere and the property are 10-15 minutes’ walk from the station. Many activities are available with the Lake District National Park, such as riverside strolls, cycling through forests or hiring a boat or kayak. The owner, Helen was very welcoming and made us feel at home right away. We were given advice on the surrounding area and walks to do, shown to our room which was very nice with an en-suite shower room. Breakfast was between 8.30-9am which was quite early, but a full english was fab and we were on our way by 9.30 so we made good use of the full day. A bigger bed - does anyone have double beds anymore? Don't most of us have king size beds now...

The owner Helen was so friendly and welcoming, breakfasts were beautiful and room clean, warm and well decorated. Wifi strength wasn't particularly good and neither was signal on tv.
