Welcoming and friendly. Evening meal and breakfast first class.
The only good thing about the Coachman Inn was the Breakfast.
Was looking forward to our 4 day break. Utterly disappointed would not recommend it at all. Room was in the attic cold damp only heating in bathroom was by electric fan heater. Room was dated. Should be of been used for storage.Access to wardrobe was by one door only other door was blocked by bedside cabinet. On arrival the heating in the room was not on and it was a very cold day. Not good management. Spoilt our holiday.
Had to sit in the bath to watch TV & when came to pay the bill found out there was a supplement on top of the online booking of £20, owners attitude when dealing with this was appalling didn't care attitude & they were unable to give an itemised bill for the whole of the stay!!
Everyone made an effort to make sure we were comfortable. The restaurant was in the process of being redecorated but we ate in the Snug and it was very cosy with its log burner. Food is excellent and one of the owners, Anna, showed us the newly decorated restaurant which looks really lovely. It will be open again by now.
We would have liked a bigger bed in our room. Some of the rooms have king size beds but we had a double.
The food was excellent, loved the open fire
Just one member of staff let it down didn't really feel like she wanted to be there, not very custome friendly.
Food and room
Staff food excellent Bathroom lovely
Room not quite what I would have expected for a superior room A bit stuck away and no views But did not spoil stay
First class all round
The food was excellent and the staff really friendly and lovely atmosphere, made me feel relaxed after a stressful day at work.
Cosy bar and nice restaurant. Comfortable bed! Good size room and decent facilities.
Attic room bathroom needs a proper shower.
Firstly the hosts Anna and Kevin, fantastic and very welcoming. Also very patient and fun especially with our elderly parents, they really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The Coachman Inn is in the process of upgrading and so far very successful, the bedrooms are airy, comfortable and retain character The main dinning room is elegant and again airy The gardens are well stocked and welcoming Then there are the evening meals and breakfasts.... excellent and very good value for money Highly recommended
My down side is that there is no sitting room, to relax in away from the bedrooms/public rooms for guests that are staying. However the Coachman Inn does not market/offer itself as an hotel so this is possibly an unrealistic quibble
Accommodation and food excellent...even for a veggy!! Both staff and hosts friendly attentive and polite. Bedroom luxorious - more like the quality of a city hotel than a modest coaching inn. Loved the 'locals' bar as we were able to take our dog whilst we had a drink before dining. Just a great place to stay. We only stayed one night but would go back and stay longer. Value for money.
Would have liked a selection of cask ales. Only two to choose from. My husband is not a fan of Black Sheep.
Everything! Will be booking to stay here again
One staff member a little unhelpful but everybody else made up for it
The food in the restaurant and the cooked breakfast were excellent and extremely good value.
The room we stayed in was cosy but tired and a little dusty and needed a freshen up. When we booked a meal a few days before our planned visit we presumed this would be in the restaurant and felt disappointed when we were shown to a table in the bar, which could have easily become busy and certainly could not be described as cosy or private. However this was rectified and we were taken into the restaurant.
Nice quiet location big room friendly owner great yorkshire breakfast
bathroom lighting very dim
Room in the attic too warm no fans available.
Friendly, helpful staff. Wonderful food whether at breakfast time or in the 4 star restaurant in the evening Clean and comfortable throughout.. Beautiful surroundings. Well placed for days out.
Can't think of a single thing!
Great value for money, fantastic food including the breakfast. The bedroom was impressive. The staff were friendly and very efficient, and the owners are massive James Blunt Fans. Happy Days!!!

The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly
Food was tasty. Bed was comfortable.
Found a massive sextoy in my room. Service took forever.
Everything. The room was clean and comfortable absolutely superb. The food was amazing, a lovely selection on offer and perfectly cooked. The staff were very friendly and happy to help. Location is a little out in the sticks with not alot around you but you're not far away from anything. Over all beautiful stay and would highly recommend. Even thinking of sending the in-laws away there for a long weekend as a gift.
