Staff friendly and helpful. Room cosy, warm, clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was great...loved the fresh fruit. The view was fantastic...just across the road was an unobstructed view of Swansea Bay. The bed was a bit hard for my preference but I'm sure it would suit most people fine. I went there with my elderly parents. We had the top floor so it was a bit of a struggle for them to get up the rather steep and narrow staircase. It was my fault as I could have requested a ground floor room for them.

Location and hotel was clean and tidy. I wasn't keen on my room. The shower room and toilet was located together but the sink was in the bedroom which made it feel like a lodging rather than a hotel room. The resultant meant that you couldn't wash privately using the sink. The window couldn't be opened during the night due to noise of traffic on the main road. I also thought that payment would have been by visa/switch but the hotel preferred cash payment or else a surcharge would be put on your bill by a 2-3% increase. This meant I had to find a cash machine during my stay which added stress to my vacation. I wish Bookings.com told me this when booking. Overall for the price which according to the website info prior to booking was reduced. I thought the accommodation was overpriced for what we felt was a basic facility. IE:- It felt more like a B&B rather than a hotel. If I was to book there again I'd expect to pay around £45.00 per night which is a price offered by most B&B's in the Swansea area. Would I book there again? No, When I booked I was searching for a hotel and this place was a B&B with everything that you'd expect to find in a B&B. If anything I felt this accommodation was mi sold by Bookings.com

Excellent value for money guest house in the heart of the Mumbles. Perfect base to use for the coastal walk or just eating out. Very friendly owners and well maintained, modern and comfortable rooms. We had one of the front facing rooms that had wide ranging views over Swansea Bay and beyond. Good quality, not greasy, English breakfast with plenty of choice. We would definitely use this as our base for the Mumbles again. Please note: keep your eye out for a parking space along the main road to save yourself the £4.50 daily charge in the Council run car parks. The only criticism, if I have one, was the shower. A power shower it is not and it will take quite some time for you to get wet!!

An overnight stay to see our grandson in his 1st year in Swansea Metropolitan. Did not want to stay in Swansea. Had not returned to the Mumbles for quite a few years. Chose The Coast House at the last minute. We chose the front bedroom overlooking the sea which we found was perfect. Good size bedroom although it slept 3 people and we were only 2. Beds were very comfortable and the full english/welsh breakfast was very good.

We were there to extend a necessary one-day visit to Swansea, to see something of the Gower. On the only whole day we were there it rained heavily and was very windy. However it was good to come back to a warm and comfortable room before venturing out (into the gale) for our meal. I would suggest that the availability of a road map of the Gower would have been appreciated. In particular, I must say that the bed was very comfortable. The shortage of space in the shower.

Plain but clean accommodation. A good base for touring the area. Hosts friendly and helpful. A bit noisy at night from passing traffic. Stairs rather steep and narrow. Not very suitable for elderly clients.

For a bed and breakfast, The Coast House was very clean with a keen attention to detail. The dining room was spotless and the food was well prepared. There was a menu for all types of taste. Generally the service was that which you would expect from a 3 star hotel. The sea views are very good and the location of the guest house was just out of the more busy part of the Mumbles. varied restaurants available as well as supermarket close by. Highly recommended for a couple to have a weekend break. Shower in room 5 was too hot and temperature could not be varied. Minor problem, just needs a bigger shower head!

“We were given a very warm greeting by our hostess. All aspects of the available facilities were explained as well as advising what was available locally. Our room was spotless, the shower was excellent and easy to control. Breakfast was absolutesly faboulous and the food was prepared for us at the time we ordered. We cleared our plates on both mornings. All in all a very good and highly recommended Guest House.” Gerard, Limerick |
