State of maintenance in room damage to outside of door and windows of room into courtyard looks like attempted break-in at sometimes.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The rooms were very small especially the bathroom.
Road noise was unavoidable. Couldn't shut the window because the room was too warm. The lighting in the room was a bit on the dark side.
Location and price. Good breakfast.
Shower had no power, in fact it was hardly strong enough to rinse your hair.
Location good for all major roads in the area. Lovely Staff. Free Wifi. Comfy bed.
Battered décor. Rotten and warped singled glazed widow frames allowing noise in. Chest of drawers with everyone of them broken. Very noisy road outside.
Comfortable with nice staff
Poorly lit, very dim room. The wifi connection wasn't very good.
Location is ideal for our needs The rooms are comfortable and clean with more included that you would expect for the cost. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The room decor may be a little tired but they are clean and good value for money.
The location is good for where we wanted to be. The rooms are clean. Wi-if good.
We weren't given the room we requested, nor offered another one that faced onto the back garden. The room we were given was ok but we would have booked a standard double room for less money if we'd known
Staff were welcoming and lovely breakfast served with a smile.
not used to narrow single bed and room lighting is only adequate.
Room Bed En suite
Room needs bedside lights Can't Switch off room light in bed
Location was perfect as we were at a function across the road. Bed was clean.
Very dated rooms. Need complete facelift and very old fashioned door keys!! Could hear noise from other rooms. Reception area smelt of cooking fat.
Everything apart from no fan
Would be nice to be offered a fan in hot weather as the room become very hot and was difficult to get to sleep because of this.
The staff welcome was first class, and nothing seemed to be too much of a problem for them. The room was very clean, and beds comfortable. The onsite parking and easy access to the pub with very reasonable prices made this a stress free stay. I do wonder what people that give negative reviews for this hotel want for this kind of money!
The rooms were very hot. However, with no aircon it was always going to be the case on the hottest day of the year.
Staff (Hannah on arrival and Linda on departure) were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was a shock, it was huge with a separate lounge. The pub attached is a Fayre and Square so great food.
On a dual carriageway. Our rom unfortunately was probably the closest you could get. Ear plugs are a must but at £42 per room there has to be a compromise!
We have stayed at the Cocked Hat on previous occasions. It is very handy to the motorways/A46 highway. Not with standing this the room we usually occupy is very comfortable and quiet.
Location was good and staff where very pleasant . The room was clean.
It was a hot weekend and the window restricters didn't allow the windows to be opened enough so an uncomfortable nights sleep. Room could do with modernising as quite old and dated but clean
Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food at extremely reasonable prices.
Room was a good size.plenty of free parking.shops fast food outlets and eating places near by.staff were helpful and plesant.
The staff tried hard and were friendly, even if the product they had was not up to much.
Very tired accomodation, soft lumpy beds, badly marked furniture, poor lighting and lots of road noise. Food at the attached pub followed same theme- tired, soggy, flavourless and sitting down to a sticky unclean table is just nasty. 50% of wall light shades in public areas of hotel showed signficant burning from over powered light bulbs. Terrible fire risk and changing them really isn't expensive.
Refurbished since my last stay, pleasant surprise to see everything to a good standard for a comfortable stay.
No adverse comments to make.
Location and the size of the rooms
Cracked sink and no sink plug
This hotel was really clean, the rooms were lovely and comfortable the staff really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful and filled us up for the day The pub that is adjoined was really good the food was tasty and very cheap. Would defiantly recommend this hotel to everyone
Wifi was very poor
The room was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was extremely hot and due to its location being right next to the local bypass very noisey.
friendly staff, very helpful, nothing too much trouble if asked a question, value for money food, food came on time, nice garden but smoking ashtray everywhere, not clear defined areas for the non smokers plenty of parking, good breakfast overall very good value for money, would recommend as a pit stop might be good to have a city map or plan
hot room, no air, felt squashed in, no lounge to just relax in, or just chill, no chill area, friends came over and we met in bar but it felt like a bar slow water pressure for the shower but water was hot enough small shower towels not keen on the position only because i like a bit more of a quiet position but overall not a bad spot to get here and there. just would have liked a lounge or chill out area to read a book, get a wine or a beer and some snacks without feeling i was at the bar. would have spent more. but i may be different from the overnight travellers who use the facitilities
