Wir waren mit der Unterkunft sehr zufrieden, sauber und auch mt alles Notwendigen versehen. Essen sehr gut - ein gemütliches Inn. Englisches Frühstück ausgezeichnet.

Das Coldstreamer ist ein charmantes kleines Hotel mit beliebtem und belebtem Pub in idyllischer Lage. Schön eingerichtete Zimmer. Vor allem aber ist das Essen fantastisch und zu Recht im Michelin aufgeführt! Sehr ausgefallen und von bester Qualität, was man nicht erwartet hätte.

Der kauzige Barkeeper war als Empfang nicht so geeignet, ansonsten aber alles prima.

Der Coldstreamer ist ein Inn mit sehr guter Küche in einem kultigem Ambiente. Das Gebäude leigt in einem altem Teil des Ortes auf einer Anhöhe etwas abseits des Hauptverkehrs. Der Pub-Teil ist ein gediegener "publik-room" in Reinkultur. Sauber und gepflegt mit grosser Auswahl und nettem Personal. Das angeschlossene Restaurant erfüllt auch gehobene Ansprüche. Die Küche bereitet frische Speisen in überraschenden Kombinationen schmackhaft und lecker zu und das zu normalen Preisen. Das Zimmer übertraf in Allem unsere Erwartungen. Grosse helle Räume mit reichlich Platz und ein grosses Badezimmer mit riesiger Dusche sind nur einige Details. Das Frühstück am nächsten Morgen war auch sehr sehr gut. Nur das frsich zubereitete English-Breakfast hätte etwas grösser ausfallen können. Aber so paßte es zur gehobenen Gastronomie.

Staff were excellent. Food was fab/great value for the money. We ate there nearly every day. Breakfast was all local produce and made to a high quality.

Bath room cold due to draughty sash window and poor heating in there. A few cobwebs and a bit of dust.

Nice relaxed village atmosphere - but close to Penzance. Friendly staff and local people. Excellent food and drinks. Spotlessly clean room with comfortable bed. We would recommend The Coldstreamer to anyone visiting the area.

could not fault this place. The meal we had was exceptional, staff helpful and friendly, location across road from 13th century church was special. Would not hesitate to recommend. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Everything about this pub was excellent. The staff were friendly,the food was really good, the room was spotless and very spacious. Will be recommending to all of our friends that visit Cornwall that this is a terrific, central place to stay from which to tour the area.

The history is fascinating. For a short while after 1942, the property was owned by the Coldstream Guards Association (and there is obviously still a connection as recent copies of the annual Regimental Magazine are in the bar area). &Quot;Nulli Secundus", or "Second to None" is the motto of the Coldsteam Guards and this traditional inn certainly aspires to that! We stayed for two nights in order to have a short spring break with our small dog. The accommodation was comfortable and the owners have some welcoming touches in the rooms - ear plugs if you find the chatter in the bar downstairs or the church bells annoying. Whilst we always take our dog's basket and have a couple of old towels in the car, there was a doggie rug and a doggie towel available for us in the room if we had needed them. Whilst I would agree with comments concerning the bed being very hard, I have a feeling the firmness is good for one's posture. Neither of us suffered any morning twinges and aches, which we find normal in our own, softer bed! We noticed complaints from other guests about the church bells and the clock which chimes every hour. The bells of our village churches, and the chiming of the church clock, are an essential part of what makes this land "England" and it would be a crying shame if ever they fell silent. In Devon and Cornwall, there are probably fewer than a quarter of the village churches and chapels still in use, so we should be grateful when we hear the campanologists (bell ringers) practising their art! Normally, when we stay away, we try the food on one night of the stay, and drive out somewhere on the other night. However, we both felt that the Coldstreamer's food was that good, we decided not to bother looking for anywhere else and let the Coldstreamer's chef perform his magic on us throughout. Without wishing to make the chef big-headed, we would say this is the best food we have ever had in any public house in the UK!

The only disappointment we had was that providing a packed lunch was advertised when we booked. While we were told the chef could put something together for us, everything would be individually priced so it made it hard to budget. We would have liked to see a small packed lunch menu - maybe one or two choices with a veggie option - maybe even with chef's own pasties on the list?

A bit cold in the bar particularly at breakfast. As with many hotels rooms clean and well appointed although shower difficult to operate, bed not particularly comfortable pillows dreadful.

They looked after us very well. The food was very good and the facilities excellent...a very enjoyable stay.

No Car Park.....however there is ample parking just outside the hotel, so not really an issue
