The staff were very helpful The room was lovely Very clean and comfortable Just a short walk to Warwick Avenue tube. Excellent.
Beautiful building and decor. Friendly, helpful and personable staff. Lovely, homely room. Ideal for tube station into central London.
Great location very close to tube station and cafes / shops etc close by. Staff and facilities were awesome and comfortable bed. Beautiful decor in rooms and amazing building.
Location was good, breakfast was fair value and restaurant staff really nice.
We were on top floor and had to struggle up the steep narrow staircase.
- Building and the Hall - Staff
- Room too small
Excellent all round. Had a free upgrade to a junior suite on arrival which was a very nice surprise. Room was fantastic. Staff were very friendly. Will definitely be staying again.
Location was perfect!! And the beds were really comfy, great value for money.
Elevator could use some Urgrading and I wasn't a big fan of the food there.
Great boutique hotel in a wonderful area. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the rooms are beautiful. It is like staying in a grand, old London home and feels so much more personal than a chain hotel.
The welcome, the quietness, the atmosphere
Quiet. Our room was next to the reception desk, however we heard no noise from outside our room. Hotel is close to transportation (tube stations) allowing good access to all London locations. Little chance to explore area though because of rain and our limited stay.
The staff was so helpful and friendly! The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. We loved the history of the hotel.
friendly and service orientated staff cozy room comfy bed free wifi quiet area really close to the tube station
wifi was a bit slow
Location of our objective and tube station
Room 42 is up in the roof and close to machinery that sounded like air conditioning units. These were noisy all night and led to a poor sleep.
Close to Warwick Avenue Underground. Nice comfy bed Room service
No lift to the 4th floor and narrow stairs No evening meals
Great location and lovely building
Flaky service - calls waking me up I didn't ask for Bar not serving alcohol because it was a Muslim holiday / festival Tiny bathroom WiFi not working most of the time in my room and then rude response back after complaining!
Location is convenient to Paddington Station and there is a tube and bus stop very close by. Decor is gorgeous, facilities comfortable and staff very helpful and friendly. The area is pretty, with several restaurants and cafes. Close proximity to the Reagent Canal for a lovely place to stroll or go for a boat ride. I will definitely go back!
Welcoming atmosphere. High standards. Helpful staff.
Cannot think of anything.
Old school hotel, excellent service. Great period features and the Guest Relation Manager ( Minnie the cat) rules the place! Also has an amazing Victorian pub next door.
Room and location
Dining Room and Bar, needs updating
The staff were polite and helpful
There was a very unpleasant odour from the carpet around the bed. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, resulting in a near sleepless night. The breakfast is very expensive, even allowing for London prices. The curtains in room 7 need a good clean to get rid of the dust.
The staff were nice. The foyer is quite good. The location is ok - a simple tube ride into the centre (although not in the centre).
The room was basically a basement cupboard - tiny looking out at a wall from the basement level. The hot cold water did not adjust properly - the temperature in the shower kept moving. The bathroom felt a little bit unclean - like a film on everything. Worst of all - the mattress - it had absolutely no springs. It is the worst mattress we have ever experienced - including in student accomodation. I went out at 4am unable to sleep and they put me in a room called the 'Garden Suite' - it was quite big and quite nice and the mattress was ok. So I suspect the reason this hotel has a decent score is because some of the rooms are pretty good, but others are simply dreadful, even by London standards.
No hot water. I couldn't have a shower. No heating. It was cold.
We were given an upgrade to a suite. High quality fixtures and fittings and wonderfully comfortable bed. All staff really friendly and helpful. An excellent place to stay.
new light bulb needed over bathroom mirror
You never know what kind of value you are getting for London hotels that are fairly central. The Colonnade was a nice surprise! I will definitely stay there again. 12 minutes on foot to Paddington or a few steps to Warwick Station (one stop from Paddington) convenient and safe neighborhood too. Great staff that seem to care very much about the hotel and the guests.
This Hotel is worth seeking out. Its very close to the Warwick tube stop and its in a very peaceful, quiet neighbourhood. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We had a suite which was large with an Air Con unit, which was needed in summer as the mezzanine got very hot. I would recommend this Hotel to someone who wants to get out of the rat race of Central London. 10 pounds for a Taxi to Paddington for the Heathrow Express and a 20 minute walk to Lords Cricket Ground.
Its an old Hotel, well restored, but it has wooden floors so you can hear people walking around above you (creaky floorboards).
