For the price and the location you can't get better. Full of character and with helpful staff. I've been there twice and when I go back to Manchester I wouldn't think of going anywhere else.
The staff was verry friendly
A good location, not too far away from the City centre and a reasonable price.
The room was not the cleanest, it was also in a state of disrepair with the bathroom the worst. There were cracks in the wall, there was no way to adjust the heating in the bathroom and it was very uncomfortable due to the heat.
The rooms where dirty, windows cracked, ceiling damaged, bathroom shower the tiles where broken, the door had obviously previously been kicked in and had gaffer tape around it, the door barely locked properly. Wasn't an eventful stay, wouldn't go back.
I like everything about the commercial.I stayed for a night in 2014 whilst workin so decided to book again whilst in manchester for a gig.I cannot recommend it enough! Its just a 20 min walk from the town centre, its great value for money, great in winter with 2 roaring open fires, and theres a bar downstairs !! Its not posh, more homely...!!...Ill be staying there everytime im in manchester !!
The only downside i would say would be parking(thats if you have a car),,,!! i dont
Friendly hosts and old style bar but only 1 hand pull. Bed comfy and adequate for my stay in Manchester. Bedsheets and towels changed daily and excellent wifi signal throughout. Close to metro and beside museum
Occasional noise from other guests. Ensuite was cramped and carpets dirty and old
The quad room was great value for money; simply for sleeping after a day (and night) on the tiles - ideal! Comfy beds Easy access after pub had closed Hot showers
Yes, the room needed cosmetic maintenance but we paid next to nothing for central Manchester. I wasn't expecting 5*
Quite and cheap
No public transport near. Could do with a makeover or referb.
Room door doesn't lock
Very run down, 20 years past it's sell by date
The room smells, and I felt like the beddings were not washed for ages, I just felt uncomfortable there
It was a good location - we only wanted a place to stay after a gig and it was perfect for that. The pub downstairs was pretty nice too with cosy fires. £50 for a Friday night stay in Manchester can't be sniffed at.
The bed was far too soft and I woke up with a sore neck and shoulders from it. It was quite a small double too. The bathroom door was pretty dodgy and barely covered the doorway! The wallpaper was coming away in places on the top floor. The most annoying thing was that payment was not taken while I was there - it was deducted from my bank when I left from the card I used as security when booking! I didn't actually want to pay for my stay on that card and the website says I don't have to...
The honour of being able to see a physical STD

Great hotel nothing fancy but warm, comfy and quiet and it was Friday night
Two blazing fires great on a cold day, very old style but quirky & not a bad Pint.
You can't book in officially to 3.00 pm but to be fair it did say that on booking form.
Great location, rooms above nice little pub, friendly and helpful staff, come and go as you please, beds and towels seemed clean - great value for a night out in Manchester - we were there to see HMHB at the Ritz and it did the job. Thanks for the hospitality.
You will read some bad reviews of this place and ok you would not choose it for a romantic weekend - the rooms are pretty shabby - but for location and price you won't find better.
Cheap and walking distance to most places. Owners are extremely kind and helped me with many things. I would stay again.
Kind of run down.
99% of the whole stay
This location gives good access to Manchester's main city centre. Bernard explained the check in and out process with great efficiency. The beds were made and the room was clean.
Got bitten by bed bugs. As Manchester was full, I paid way over the odds for a room that appeared clean was in desperate need of modernisation.
Everything from Check in, till check out.
the owner is so kind and everything is good
Staff was helpful and polite, bar cosy, nice and warm, good beer
Narrow stairs, creaky floor boards, threadbare carpets, window coming away from pane,
Location and freindly staff
Very tired building in and out...needs a good makeover
