helpful and friendly staff Good Food[but- minor complaint- Kipper at breakfast too big and messy. The excellent Bread and butter pudding at Dinner was too small.] Petty complaints!
Nothing but would be nice if you had a swimming pool
The staff on arrival and throughout our stay were very pleasant and accommodating, the outlook from both the lounge and bedroom was excellent.Would return again.
We felt that the menu was a little lacking in choice, possibly needs to be a little wider in the selections.
Helpful, friendly staff. Excellent food. Very comfortable room.
Location was excellent, plenty to do in the estate and surrounding area. Breakfast had a good selection and great quality.
A whistle stop tour to attend a friends 21st. Lovely hotel, very friendly, excellent party and delicious breakfast. Outstanding views - we hope to return.
room space was poor
The spaciousness of the room (we were upgraded), the views from its terrace, the ambiance of the bar / restaurant and good service.
Would have been lovely to sit outside, but the weather was cold and wet and that is not their fault. Staff very friendly.
Our bedroom was cold on arrival. Called the desk and they came and showed us how to turn the radiator on. I could not work out the shower. An instruction might be useful.
Being chased after when leaving the restaurant to check if we had paid or signed for a meal. Left a bit of a nasty taste and we did not go back to the restaurant the next day. TV in the bar.
We asked for a circular table, and this was laid out beautifully. Staff were attentive, friendly with no over the top pandering.
There was nothing I didn't like.
Faulty fire alarm in my room at 2am!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good with a varied menu.
The Huntsman's bar was quite noisy as it was such a large room. It put us off eating there.
The staff were helpful and friendly, the location and views were excellent, the food and the service were first class and it was good value for money. We would definitely stay there again.
This was an excellent hotel and will be going back booked again already .
Hotel Staff Room lovely
Bar food was a lot better than The main restaurant food and Better value for money. T.V in room had a restricted volume so some programmes you Could hear and others not. The huge marquees around hotel Were a restriction on the views outside all the time we where in the hotel as they were not pretty to look at.
Grounds/ setting, food, staff and everything to do with the stay!
Didn't stay long enough! Will be back
Lovely surroundings providing an ideal relaxing environment which is what we were looking for.
At the beginning of the stay it did feel that functions took presidence over other hotel guests. However, this was clarified to not be the case at checkout. ( after we found that we could have had the A la carte menu in the Huntsman's lodge ) Small point is that there was definately improvement opportunities within the Huntsman Lodge - better use of people, physical seating environment.
Beautiful location and really relaxed.Made welcome by the excellent staff.

Very cold in the bar
The location and the spectacular views. Superb food, rooms, friendliness of staff
There was nothing you could possibly dislike.
the setting, wonderful for taking r photos. enough rooms for all members of both faimilies. Large tables where everyone could join in conversation. Quick service and excellent food. Pleasant, helpful staff. Lovely comfortable rooms.
price of a drink of coke cola £4
Room very well appointed and spacious. Outstanding view over lake, meadow and out to moorland hillside. Bathroom/showerroom excellent Balcony a bonus. Choice of eating venues very good. We chose the bar area as very bright and spacious. The food was very good both in variety, quality. All staff were very friendly and efficient. Couldn't have asked for better few days stay.
There was nothing wrong in any respect.
After a morning of meetings and a long drive north, the Coniston Hotel was an oasis of beauty and tranquility on our way to the Lake District. Our room was lovely, the shower fantastic, the staff very helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed an invigorating morning walk around the lake before departing.
Our only suggestion would be to offer more options, particularly at breakfast, for lacto-vegetarians, but perhaps this is unrealistic for a hotel/restaurant that caters to hunters.
The Location and the Food
Dog Facilities were great but need more bins for dog poo !
