So far from town
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. The room I stayed in although a twin room was a little cramped but that is the only negative thing I can say really. It is outside the town of Shrewsbury which I liked as there are plenty of safe walking areas to explore close by. As I was travelling on my own I needed to feel safe and this felt safe to me.
Room was just a little bit cramped. The stay was a little pricier than where I could have stayed in Shrewsbury but altogether it was a nice safe area to stay.
Family Room Very Comfy bed Large Room Self catered breakfast (Option to eat in pub)
No negative points except distance to Shrewsbury (10 mins drive?)
I loved the location. I would stay here again but would request a different room.
One of the bedside lamps did not work and the main road light was not bright enough so the room was very gloomy. We had an attic room with only a small window and the view from the window was of a roof. Also at breakfast, although delicious my husband found a hair in his.
Ideal position of Hotel, within 6 minutes of centre of the the very scenic towns of Shrewsbury and 20 minutes to Ironbridge Gorge, yet a just on the banks of the River Severn, with a great rural outlook. Great recent upgrade of a rural style English Inn, with excellent dining facilities.
The 2 flights of stairs to your top floor room, are somewhat off putting, if you are of advancing years with heavy suitcases.
Clean, nicely furnished room, good location, friendly staff
Having to go outside from the restaurant to the hotel area. The weather was persistent rain so got wet each time
Good atmosphere in the restaurant , staff very helpful, food excellent, sleeping room adequate for one night.
friendly staff good food great choice of drinks nice views close to town
Sunday lunch was excellent Bed was very comfortable Plenty of car parking space
Bathroom was very small Reception doubled as the bar
nice bar good parking
small stuffy room up in the eves very hot , dint sleep that well due to the heat
Good quiet location but only a short drive from Shrewsbury City centre. Food and service first class
Loved the stay , the room was spacious and cleanliness was excellent. The food was really good compliments to the chef
Thought that the bar could be more welcoming- have comfy seats as everywhere was dinning chairs
we liked everything about this hotel we arrived a few hours early and we was shown to our room straightaway they gave us an upgrade too food was good very near park and ride into shrewsbury
everything, from location, food, staff to the four poster bed.
parking was a bit "tight" but manageable
The whole experience its a great location - short taxi journey into shrewsbury - no car parking worries
No problems at all.
Great location in a quiet village but in easy reach of Shrewsbury. The staff in all areas were very pleasant and helpful. We had a twin room right at the top, be aware that there are several flights of stairs to negotiate which we managed without a problem. The room was very clean and well appointed, the beds most comfortable. We stayed 3 nights and returned each evening to a thoroughly serviced room. Meals were available and good value, choice of cooked or light breakfast, evening meals generous and most enjoyable. Overall great value and we'd definitely return if the opportunity arouse.
Nothing to dislike.
Comfortable and very clean, with helpful staff.
Having to walk up STAIRS TO THE TOP FLOOR due to are age, we are both over 70 and not as fit as we used to be.
I rang earlier in the week & explained i would be at the flower show all day & what could you do well the lady i spoke to booked a taxi to and from the show for us.checked us in early, and took our bags and put them in the room for us while we were away.nothing like a great start to your stay. when we got back the bar staff were very nice & friendly, the rooms were excelent, bit of repairs needed hear & there nothing to worry about, bit of missing grout & repair needed to shower screen if you are picky well stocked with tea & coffee also soap, shampoo & shower gels, great location great bar and excellent views
As per usual with me the fried egg for breakfast, spoilt it for me soild & not runny egg not good & only one egg, unusual for me did not send it back like i did at the 4* Mandeville in London well they should know better also that was a £25 beakfast. as we had a good stay did not want to cause a scene with other guests there but adised when paying because it was a two for £15 but bought alone was £9 not good enough for the price, Iwas suprised because i had eaten a meal hear prior to this visit & it was excellent
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Good value food and drinks
Lovely room although small it was well planned. Good facilities in the room. Staff were friendly although were quite busy. Very clean room and bar.
There was a funny smell in the corridor and the breakfast was nice but undercooked. It is a working pub so barrels were being unloaded as we went to breakfast and there was quite a few people in the pub the night before. I would stay here again.
Lovely staff very helpful very spacious rooms and amazingly comfortable beds great nights sleep. Very tasty meals and good breakfast service was very good would stay again all the group of us were very happy with our stay
The location suited our travelling needs to see local sites (sights). Excellent food and friendly staff. Excellent view of Shrewsbury and the River Severn. I have already recommend the hotel to friends.
Would liked option of fresh fruit at breakfast. More detailed instructions on air conditioning. If possible a small empty fridge in the room.
Quite country location with views across the river seven from the rooms and bar terrace. We walked into Shrewsbury along footpaths in countryside allow around an hour for this. Rooms comfortable and well proportioned. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had three evening meals and a breakfast, couldn't fault them, good value. We booked a third night for our return trip and visited Iron Bridge & the museum at RAF Cosford on route home to Suffolk. Thank you to The Corbet Arms team for a wonderful stay
We really enjoyed our stay.
