The Cormorant Hotel  

The restaurant was outstanding. Dinner was the best I have had in a British provincial hotel for many years. Service was perfect with just the right amount of time given between courses. We never had to wait for anything. There wine list has been chosen with care and contains some very interesting vintages and all are reasonably priced. The view from the restaurant is superb and added to our enjoyment. Our room also had a wonderful view.

They upgraded my room and the view was fantastic I could sit in my room and look for hours in fact we kept our curtains open until it was dark and opened them as soon as it was light,the staff were extremely helpfull .I wish I could have stayed longer .

My husband was shocked at the poor quality of the bed ,I must admit there wasnt a lot of filling in it . and he refused to eat there as it was expensive but judging by the comments book the food was good quality.

The position and out look, comfort style and friendly staff, food was very good so we had a very lovely stay and would go again.

We liked absolutely everything about this hotel, the wonderful views the pool and spa, clean bedroom, but the very best was the gourmet food! This hotel is a real find for us and we will be returning very soon, the staff were so professional yet very friendly and helpful

Beautiful views and location. Good size room, not often you find a hotel that actually provides a tea pot to use and fresh milk in the fridge in your room, very nice touch. En-suite, fluffy white towels, power shower and all essentails, Recommend to book for evening meal, wonderful dinner with a wide choice of fresh foods in a very pleasant dining room. The menu was provided in the lounge where a pre-dinner drink helped to decide our meal. Substanial breakfast with a wide choice to please guests. Full marks to the hotel staff, very polite and presented.

Terrific pool & hot tub, outstanding views and great breakfasts.

Creaky floorboards in room above meant we could hear every footstep. Wi-fi a bit unpredictable.

the location is wonderful , views stunning. Nothing was too much trouble and staff competent and friendly. food was amazing and restaurant good. room was smashing , very clean and good bed.Good mini bar and real milk for coffee. lovely to sit on balcony looking over river, so peaceful. I would stay again and again.

Service was very attentive and friendly. The menu was of local dishes, extremely well prepared and presented. Location was wonderful for a quiet weekend, but close enough to Fowey for a afternoon out. Excellent views of the river!

Room was OK... no more than 3 star. Duvet was far too heavy for Cornwall - made for a slightly uncomfortable sleep.

Bathroom extractor fan - bit noisy

Insgesamt doch sehr positiv. Unfreundliches Personal, wie in anderen Bewertungen genannt wurde nicht angetroffen. Im Gegenteil! Die Lage ist sehr schön über dem River Fowey und es ist insgesamt sehr ruhig. Dorfpub zu Fuß zu erreichen.

Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig (Holzkonstruktion?) und besonders im Zimmer über Restaurant/Küche bekommt man abends viel mit. Der Haartrockner drei Zimmer weiter ist ein verlässlicher Wecker...aber erträglich. Für den Preis - selbst für englische Verhältnisse ist es teuer - hätten wir etwas mehr erwartet. Für Familien und jüngere Paare wohl nur bedingt geeignet, das Publikum war doch überwiegend älter (wegen des Preises?) und recht steif. Somit war z.B. die Atmosphäre im Restaurant trotz des guten Essens etwas "gedrückt".
