The cleanliness of the bed was wonderful and the hot water was endless, the room was clean and warm.
for what we paid it wasn't a disappointment.
Room standard, bathroom, bar and location. Good value. Handy for shops and theatre. Key access for late night entry.
Weekend breakfast start was too late for me at 08:30. Parking area was not controlled and was clogged by shoppers during the afternoon. Needs locked bays.
Breakfast was very good. staff were friendly. Location and parking good.
condition of premises was poor. Room and Hallway In need of full renovation.
Quiet , free parking
TV was not working in room and they had no replacement
Good location in centre of town Best breakfast ever
Great food would recommend and friendly staff
The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was good portions Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Unfortunately the hairdryer in the bathroom was in need of repair...
Food was ok.
Carpets were dirty,Very noisy as we were next to the main road,Does need double glacing.Picked up the stool in the room and the seat came off,
Cheap and cheerful and late night free entry to night club
Ran out of toilet paper and broken hairdryer in the bathroom
The staff are friendly and helpful. Location perfect. Great breakfast! Price very good.
The rooms are a little tired but perfectly adequate.
The bed was comfortable and clean. The food provided was good and sufficient in quantity.
The room was noisy due to extractor fan very close to window. Floor was not well vacuumed. There were hairs in sink which were not mine. Outside area was filthy. Tables were not cleaned quickly enough between diners. More staff required, or more attention to early diners.
I think my headline, "no thrills but cheap and cheerful," sums it up nicely. Staff were friendly and helpful. I was cycling and they quickly took me somewhere safe to leave the bike and even wheeled it through for me in the mornings. The food for evening meals was good and very reasonably priced, although they don't serve on Sunday evenings I was a bit puzzled on the first morning in that there was no sign of cereals and fruit juice. The breakfast does just consist of the main course - in my case a full English - and toast - butter but no jams or marmalade - and tea/coffee. However, what a plateful! It's important to bear in mind that at £39.00 per night it was cheap. From what I could gather they will do other things beside a full English. Others have mentioned the noise from the night club and late night revellers. Maybe the night club wasn't running when I stayed there but although I could just about hear some music - possibly from the bar - it didn't really disturb my sleep. There were some noisy late night revellers but they weren't really a problem and surely you get that in any town centre on Friday and Saturday nights. My room was nice and the place was clean although I think it's time to consider re-painting the walls!
Was a bit disappointed that there were no real ales available despite it advertising that it had them, but there might have been reasons for it.
Liked the location
Room very hot as above kitchen and so many flies was impossible to eat breakfast
Good value ,and a hearty breakfast .
The area is noisey of a night time
The staff were absolutely lovely and went out of their way to help out with a multitude of requests. Unbelievable value for money and a hearty breakfast included. Room and bathroom were lovely and cozy and clean. Would definitely come back here.
Breakfast was great
Unable to sleep as fan from kitchen was outside of window. Going all night, no sleep. Run a bath, and it floods the bathroom, due to a leak at the taps. TV did not work. Hair dryer, hose split. Bedroom carpet damp. Look out of window, flat roof. With rubbish on it, settee's & other rubbish. Bathroom bin not empty, from last guest's. Toilet seat loose.
Nice hotel and nice staff
On street parking, wasn't always able to find a space
Enormous Breakfast Friendly Staff
Price different from that quoted on line and does not include breakfast as stated Church bells stuck on loop all evening
Good central location. We just stayed one night for a nearby wedding so it was ok for the price but wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer.
The room was unbearably hot even with the window open and the whole place seemed to have a problem with flies!
Service, no one there to serve breakfast, bath leaked, hair dryer was broken. Staff were rude.
The Corn Exchange is a family business. The staff were wonderful and went that extra mile to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The checking in time was 2pm and yet the land lord made arrangements for us freshen up and change prior to attending a friends wedding which was the purpose of our trip. The facilities in the room were good and the room was spotlessly clean. Above all we enjoyed the full English breakfast which was freshly made and served with care. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely little in East Sussex. Dr. Thisara Weerasuriya Orthopaedic Surgeon Ayr Hospital Scotland
We phoned to say we would be late and that was fine. Staff very friendly. Nightclub to side, but noise didn't disturb us too much. Shower... Wow Breakfast, cooked to order, delicious!
A straightforward B and B with a good bar serving nice foos both at dinner and breakfast. The staff werre very friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
There was a noisy extractor fan outside my room which went off at 8.30pm but came on again with a vegeace at 7am. The decor was a bit shabby and the pillows rather thin and hard.
