A straightforward B and B with a good bar serving nice foos both at dinner and breakfast. The staff werre very friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
There was a noisy extractor fan outside my room which went off at 8.30pm but came on again with a vegeace at 7am. The decor was a bit shabby and the pillows rather thin and hard.
Free parking in high street outside, friendly staff, comfy bed, really good breakfast. Bit of noise from nightclub at back but really an issue
The full breakfast was awesome, the room was just right and when we had trouble with the kettle, they got us a new one immediately. Great service. Thank you Corn Exchange staff :)
the pub was great value for food & beer the en suite was clean
the room was not very clean the room we had was right next to the fire exit and it kept slamming
The proprietor he was great, very helpful, didn't stop pleasing us, the room was lovely and the shower great, had a good stay.
Window did not shut so had constant road noise.
The staff was very helpful and the location was excellent and very convenient. The breakfast was outstanding and would stay there again but not on a hot summer day!
I arrived on one of the hottest days of the year and the room had no fan and only a small window. It was brutally hot in the room at night and slept only because I had been up for a couple of day while traveling.
Noise of the air conditioning unit
Everything central location great food and nice staff.
The air conditioning unit was leaking all over the carpet so you needed shoes on to go to the bathroom at all times. The bedroom was very tired and needed a refit. There was a lot of noise from the street at 2am with people from the night club going home talking loudly.
Breakfast was great, nice pleasant helpful staff.
Too noisy, kitchen fans left on all night, poor quality bed.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean room, good value.
Unfortunately the Saturday night disco(round the corner) was rather loud
The room stank of cigarette smoke
We felt welcome the minute we walked through the door. Every member of staff was friendly and smiling - which contributed to the warm & friendly atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt really relaxed during our stay.
To be honest, we have no complaints. This hotel is excellent value for money. It could be a little bit cleaner .... one of the rooms has a view of the roof and is noisy due to a boiler or air conditioning (we never found out) but we weren't staying for the view. We come to see family and just need somewhere to sleep at a reasonable price!
Friendly staff Good breakfast Price value
Bit grubby and some room furniture broken No air conditioning / cooling fan - very hot in room!
Staff friendly and helpfull
Room too hot ,no climate control
Having stayed in other Hotels and B&Bs in the area where my stay felt anonymous and pretty bland, I was very pleasantly surprised with The Corn Exchange. The staff were so friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. With relaxed surroundings I would highly recommend this to anyone above all others.
the staff was very good and the breakfasts was very good plus the evening meals
For the money the accommodation was very good. It was clean and the bathroom was spacious. The full English breakfast which was included in the price was also very good indeed. I happened to have a bad back so the firm mattress helped too.
The only down side was the fact that the window was open due to the heat and the exhaust of an old looking but efficient air conditioning unit and the noise from the street was loud due to youths mainly and a night club at the rear of the property. I slept soundly despite this.
Friendly staff comfortable accommodating
bed had dirty stains and there was jewellery /bangles and earrings left on bed side table Lost my new watch in the pub (although an accident)
Staff very helpful and did all they could to make our stay happy. Breakfast was very good and we eat at the pub the night before and food very good value. For the price very good value, but walls and doors needed a good clean.
The noise when the night club kicked out. We had the window open as the room very hot, and the noise woke us up at 3am. Hard to get back to sleep.
The nearby church bells ringing out at 5AM!
Nice breakfast - staff friendly, good value for money
wasn't aware until arrival that a Nightclub open until 2.30am - lots of shouting on entrance & exit of club
bar and food good.staff good
fan didnt work in room.hairdryer also broken .toilet seat broken
staff were firendly and helpful, rooms were clean ,
