Staff very cheerful and helpful. Good breakfast
Room a little small
Would stay again. Very friendly.
room was cold till approx. 7.30 . gravy put on meal when asked for it to be left off this spoiled my meal as staff reluctant to change meal.i do not like to complain as it is my taste not the food
Bedrooms were sparce and not clean windows sills and paintwork on walls filthy needed a good clean, room also smelled of smoke
Room # 15 is located directly over the passage and the service door. It gets rather loud in the early morning hours (laundry trolleys, staff chatting, etc.)
We liked the idea of the wine shop and breakfasts were good-good choices, although out of veggie sausages on our visit.
Our double room was very tiny-rooms bigger in budget hotels and this certainly wasn't budget! There was barely room for two very slim people to move round each other-had to move a fan out into corridor to increase space. No hooks on bathroom or bedroom doors and no working fan in bathroom.
food ambiance decor
wi fi a little slow
Staff very helpful Good food well served Clean room and public areas
Room size very claustrophobic and walls too thin Drink prices very high
Good food if a little pricey. Overall reasonable value, comfortable bed and nice breakfast
Poor wi fi connection, hotel a little noisey and unpleasant smell in bathroom
Room comfortable - Very convenient for Taunton town centre
The room and bathroom were spotless and the bedding and towels were beautiful. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was too hot and when we opened the window during the night we had to close it again due to the cooling system being very, very noisy. It is located by the reception and below the room. The heating cannot be adjusted in the room.
The food was very good and the choice at breakfast was excellent staff very helpful and polite Would certainly stay there again
The bed could do with up dating.
Location. The reception staff apologised for tight parking 'there's a wedding tonight'. What he neglected to mention was that our room was immediately over the reception. The music and voices were clearly and very loudly audible through closed windows and curtains. At least the kids singing had great voices and the DJ was good.
Being forced to listen to an entire wedding reception, including the karaoke, with no explanation, apology of offer of another room. They never contacted us before arrival to inform re the wedding - that's not hospitality - locking people in a loud room and preventing them from sleeping is formally torture.
Location, restaurant and helpful staff.
No lift and "compact" rooms which are not convenient for older guests, which we were.
Stayed here to visit the Bridgwater carnival overall the hotel is good they do a really nice breakfast my only problem was that our room was a bit of a mission to get to as we had a small baby to lug up n down stairs and round corners plus when we was trying to sleep we could here people talking in other rooms including the drunk couple next door arguing overall it was a good night sleep
Thin walls and loads of up n dwon stairs to our room
No toilets on ground floor. Some rooms needed decorating and upgrading
parking was a problem ( wedding reception was going on at time of visit. As there were no spaces available tried leaving by narrow exit and managed to scrape a bit of my nearside rear door against curved brick wall! By the various colours on the wall this must happen a fair bit. Better signage and parking exclusion grid on ground would help. also vertical pieces of softwood with attached lengths of standard rubber fire hose screwed to the wall would at least prevent paint damage? Will still stay at corner house again.
Very hot room Very small room
big bathroom! shower/bath location, staff
room was small, bed wasnt a proper double, overpriced for what we got.
the complete stay
only 1 chair
Excellent food Comfortable room Trying very hard to please Value for money Felt at home
Attention to the little things by the staff would make this a better stay but easily compares with more costly hotels by ease.
Friendly staff, location and the food
Being woke up by a member of staff emptying empty winebottles into the bin at 4am on the second day and temperature in the room was to hot even with the fan and window open.
The eggs benedict for breakfast was good but was an EGG benedict. It is the first time that I had only one egg and one muffin
I liked the atmosphere. The dining staff where very good. Food good. Nice breakfast,
Noise on saturday night from young girls going in and out to have a smoke and letting the door slam everytime under our room. Carpets could do with a clean.
The wine and sausage restaurant was tremendous. Food excellent. Breakfast was too Great selection of wines. Staff very friendly would always recommend booking the larger double room. As opposed to the compact one
