Well presented small hotel in ideal location for exploing Taunton

I was fine but my sons shared a room at the front and did comment on traffic noise.

Car park has very narrow exit which is difficult to manoeuvre with big car.

The room was clean and bright. Had a good power shower which makes a change. Staff were friendly and the price was an absolute bargain. The evening meal was delicious - the best I've had in a long time!

The room was a little small but would definitely use this hotel again.

Easy check in and check out. Friendly, helpful staff. Onsite parking for guests. Excellent value for money and good location for Taunton centre.

The ambience of the hotel, the way in which the staff went out of their way to ensure everything was to the expected standard. I would definitely stay there again!

Central hotel.

It was convenient, pleasant and clean. My room had all the facilities I needed and the breakfast was good.

I booked last minute, I admit I did not pay a great deal (£65 room only) but it’s not unreasonable to expect a nice room, first impressions on arrival, small car park, in terms of the room the first one allocated to me was incredibly small, room number 9 (the size of the door to the room appeared considerably smaller to all the others) When I entered the room which the word the Hotel used on the booking form was "compact".(Estate agents speak) it was small, the bathroom was small and the flush on the toilet had clearly not worked for the previous occupant so I was moved to another room. I was moved to a room situated above the entrance to the car park, room number 27, again on the small side, but had room for me to place a laptop and store bags and continue my work, The room did not look clean, the carpets were mucky and stained and there were bits of dirt left on the floor, I did leave my socks on. The noise generated from the car park (people arriving or departing) was quite loud, no thanks to the person driving that old VW beetle and the motor cyclist whose bike was clearly was unable to sustain idle speed and needed to be continuously revved, also the chatting caused by the smokers who gathered below was quite loud. When I finished my work around 11pm I thought I would watch some television for 20 minutes or so, be great if I had a remote control, a little late to notify the reception, when I mentioned the remote in the morning the receptionist remarked "oh yes it’s here - sorry". For the avoidance of doubt I chose not to eat or drink in this hotel.

Room was very noisy, paper thin walls. Service in restaurant very poor and extremely slow

Comfortable beds and pillows, fridge, fresh milk and mineral water supplied. Very close to town centre. The flash deal price was excellent.

Car park - nightmare! Smokers congregating underneath bedroom window - smell comes into the room. Noise is a nuisance at night.
