The rooms were spacious and clean.
although very pleasant the staff were not very well informed. Bit over-priced for what you got
Staff were extremely pleasant and attentive and very professional. Accommodation was of a high standard and our dining experience was superb.
Accommodation tariff is rather pricey because inclusive spa facilities are very limited. (The swimming pool is very small.)
Very luxurious , great venue , very peaceful , perfect couple get away
Beautiful remoteness of the place, yet close to Laugharne - our suite was great. A bathroom to perform Shakespeare in...or read Dylan Thomas poetry!
That we couldn't stay longer.
Friendly staff and beautiful accommodation
Food, setting, staff and pool.
Bed was way too hard!
Lovely location & accomodation. Spa staff were polite and helpful and treatments were very relaxing [hot stone back massage]. Definately recommend to our friends.
A bit pricey for the area, both for accomodation and eating / drinking. Spa prices far more competitive with similar establishments.
Great staff who made our stay a pleasure
The beds could do with a bit of a re-think
Excellent customer service, good quality food.
Bathroom was tired. Paid £275.00 for one nights stay, asked for two champagne glasses to be brought to the room, was told to go to the bar to get them myself. Toilet seat in ladies toilets in the main bar was wooden with a big chunk out of the seat. You don't expect things like this in a hotel that charges £275 a night. I've paid less and had more. Sadly won't be returning.
The room was nicely furnished and spacious. The dining room looked very stylish and inviting.
Unfortunately we felt that the whole experience was more style over substance. For example, the dining room looked great but was not practical - cast iron chairs scraping on the slate floor was not pleasant, and the chairs themselves were not very comfortable. The food was OK but again for the price we would have expected a higher quality of flavour and cooking. A small thing but at breakfast there was no selection of marmalade or jam. Pretty key items for a breakfast service.
Everything! The staff were so attentive, food great and rooms beautifully decorated.
Lovely peaceful location, great rooms, fantastic restaurant and accommodating staff. As it was our anniversary we were treated to a free glass of champagne with dinner and some complimentary chocolates in our room, as well as a note from the manager wishing us a pleasant stay, which we thought was a nice touch.
The swimming pool is a bit small and it was a shame that the treatment rooms for the spa were above the pool so you could hear other guests whilst trying to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing massage.
I liked the room, pool and jacuzzi
I would have preffered the tv to be in the room with the bed. Also the restaraunt was lovely but the staff a bit OTT made us feel very uncomfortable and drinks far too expensive
Restaurant very good
Spa facilities very poor
The staff at the Corran were extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Complete lack of mobile phone signal which I know some people would find a bonus but it is worrying when you have elderly dependent relatives.
Staff Beds Location Food Room ambience Comfort
Only mirror was in the bathroom - no mirror with a socket nearby for a hair dryer or stylers.
The hotel staff and food were outstanding. Also, the Spa staff and their treatments were very good.
No dislikes. We would certainly go there again.
The rooms are really lovely (especially room 5 as it has a log burning fire giving that touch of romance to the weekend). Fab bathrooms, fluffy bathrobes and slippers and quality bedding. Breakfast is very tasty and nicely presented although wished it went on to 10.30am as it would be lovely to have the later lie in.
On this occasion the leisure facilities were out of order which was a disappointment as they were a key reason we booked this hotel - although the hotel did reduce our room rate slightly because of the lack of facilities during our stay it was disappointing. The kitchen speed/service and food in the hotel is inconsistent and can be very slow for example we ordered high tea at 3.05pm and it was finally presented to us at 4.15pm without much explanation or apology for such a lengthy wait to add insult to injury when my husband took a bite out of his sandwich there was a live slug in it which unfortunately turned my husband stomach. Staff were very apologetic and the high tea swept away quickly with a fresh one promised 15 or so mins later and assurance that it would be on the house. The replacement high tea did indeed arrive 15 minutes later (one does then really question why the first one took over an hour to appear) but the difficulty was both my husband and I were feeling quite sick from slug gate and struggled to eat it. Can't comment on their dinner speed on this occasion as we did not eat in the hotel restaurant on this occasion but if high tea and to a certain extent breakfast (we waited almost 30mins for our cooked breakfasts to arrive) is anything to go by I would imagine its a very relaxed affair! Truthfully don't think it's so much the waiting staff who were polite and friendly as a very slow kitchen - maybe they're understaffed in there either that or the hotel manager needs to consider a different kitchen set up.
A pleasant ambience and good for a relaxing stay.
Disappointing room -furniture very uncomfortable and wasn't keen on the spiral staircase to the bedroom which proved a slight problem in the middle of the night when the bathroom was downstairs! Didn't feel at all cosy on a wet windy night in Wales and although the website promised a view it was of both courtyards with a sense of being overlooked. The restaurant seemed to try too hard -Foie gras creme brûlée seemed a mistake although the "special" of sirloin steak (although was hardly medium rare as asked for) was probably the right simple choice based on the disappointing starter and a featureless dessert (praline souflee).
Beautiful setting; spa was small but first class. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly helpful and more than willing to try to please us with all our requests.
Management was woeful: no communication between sections e.g. Bookings/kitchen or Bookings/maintenance. eg's Room was not completed including no telephone or heating, and poorly cleaned. Only one menu for all three evening meals. Also, Spa treatment specifically requested in advance- not available!
closure of the spa and pool on the second day.
Comfortable, relaxing and pampering
No mini bar in room
