The staff were fabulous and the food and service was exceptional. Wil definitely be staying there again in the future and would recommend this to my friends.
No negative points during my stay
Actually : everything was really nice - great little hotel, very hospitable. Owner was super friendly, a small bite (some excellent cheese) was put at my room, as I arrived too late to have dinner. Together with a glass of wine, it made for a fine evening still !! Definitely worth to return to !
Food was out of this world Lovely staff Lovely setting Rooms were well cared for Bathrooms were clean and fresh
You could sometimes hear the people in the next room. You could hear the water running/being used in the morning.
Location, Pet Friendly, Clean Room, nice facilities, nice decor, lovely food.
Staff not willing to serve breakfast slightly earlier even though most rooms requested this !. A little disorganised.
Lovely deco, friendly atmosphere and staff
Breakfast was slow as we needed to gone early. Think it should start at 7am.
Quiet, comfortable rooms Excellent food. Great wine list. Fabulous breakfast... No buffet, perfect service to the table. Just how it should be. First class.
No mini bar in room Very over booked, cramped dining room. Staff somewhat over attentive..will hover and take away your empty plates before you catch your breath.
bed was comfy and staff very friendly. Breakfast and evening meal top quality. Thoroughly enjoyed the log fire and atmosphere after a day at Ascot.
Nice, well decorated rooms, comfortable bar area with excellent food. Shower was very powerful
Initially was put in a twin room despite booking a double. Error corrected quickly however.
Food was top class and bar and waiter were great
receptionist in hotel unhelpful and rude did not say thank you left a sour taste after a lovely stay
Fantastic location for a day at the races......staff were lovely, rooms clean and the food was amazing, would highly recommend
Beautiful location for local site seeing but excellent for Ascot race goers!
Parking is tight at hotel mealtimes.
Evening food was good. Nice room.
Breakfast poor.Overcharge on bill but rectified.
The decor and the environment is simply lovely. We needed a quiet countryside getaway and this was perfect. Requested for lower level adjourning rooms and they were graciously given to us. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place!
Food service is slow. We had dinner at the pub/restaurant attached to the B&B and the food only arrived in three quarters of an hour. Breakfast took half an hour to be served.
Rooms were very nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Plenty of tea/coffee/and other beverages - fridge and 'real' milk. Bed was very comfortable. Really liked the way the French doors opened from the room onto the garden. Bathroom was very clean and warm. Nice toiletries. Food in restaurant was superb - our compliments to the Chef! (The food was exceptional both evening and at breakfast) The staff were very polite, helpful and friendly and were able to give useful advice about the local area. Parking was easy and there was plenty of space. Looking forward to returning here soon.
The only small point was that the room we were staying in (Room 1) must have been sited near a pump which on occasions during the night could be quite noisy.
This small hotel in Windsor is in a beautiful location, close to Heathrow, Windsor Castle,Ascot and Legoland. It has an intimate feel and is in a quiet, peaceful location but has all the facilities of a 5 star hotel. The restaurant delivered fine dining in it's 18th century building and staff were friendly and attentive.
Nothing not to like!
no telephone network for the two day stay I am on EE
Friendly staff were welcoming and helpful. Food and atmosphere in the bar was excellent and well priced.
Noting to dislike this stay.
So impressed with everything at The Winning Post. Spacious room, opened on to a garden. Top quality food in restaurant. Will be returning soon.
The pub itself seemed really nice but we didn't get a chance to eat there as we were off to the races ! The room was lovely , nicely put together , very clean - and the breakfast had the best scrambled eggs I've had in a long time!
The television was a little bit small considering how far from the bed it was .... Minor point though !
The room and food
I thought the breakfast was a little disappointing. What we had was nice. But to limit it to one item was very tight. At the very least toast, fruit and yogurt should of been available on a side table. For the price of the room i felt it let the whole experience down. Plus of course breakfast is your last part of your stay so it sticks in your mind. It left me with the feeling that it was very tight money wise and perhaps taking advantage.
good food nice surroundings quiet location
no serving staff at breakfast
Good Pub fare! Great breakfast, in fabulous old Pub. Room was clean, nice comfy bed with plenty of space...& quiet.
Needs a shower over bath to get a 10+
Room was very nice Bathroom nice Staff friendly
