Score from 1242 reviews Very good
I liked the English cottage feel presented by this hotel. The English breakfast was traditional and good.
The shower cubicle in my room was old, and needs to be replaced.
Room was on the small size. Because of a function that was going on in the main dining room, we had to eat our dinner in the small dining room which lacks light and atmosphere.
Nice room and bathroom. Spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpfull reception and bar staff, Setting of accommodation nicelly set around a courtyard and gardens, Qiite room no traffic noise. Breakfast good and quickly served. On the whole a good place to stay, just needs a little more attention to the evening meal offer.
Limited bar menu. Main meal on second evening had quite a few cooking error problems. no real ale on for the two nights stayed. No celery or apple to accompany the cheese and buiscuits only a few red grapes.
food was good -staff were friendly and helpful.
hotel room above kitchen - not clean and had tobhave fan on all night to try to remove kichen smells and heat of kitchen. would not expect a room like this to be sold at normal price.
The room was a great size, Ruddington is a nice village with plenty of pubs and nearby walks and cycle paths.
Bus stop outside the door. Staff very helpful and good breakfast. Room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. Lovely outdoor area with flowers. plenty of parking.
Thought the room was beautiful and good value for money. Very helpful staff.
Couldn't cooked poached eggs and cleaners were shouting outside the breakfast room while we were eating breakfast.
+ Friendly staff. + Comfortable bed. + Location. + Garden. + Room was located in cottage away from reception and restaurant.
- Could hear footsteps and voices from other rooms upstairs in the cottage.

decor getting tired
The room we had was the honeymoon suite complete with a jacuzzi for two. This looked very good.the room was large with outside space & a table with two chairs. A settee to watch telly from.bed was very comfortable.Nice bar.Staff were fine.
Bathroom needed a bit of a refurb eg shower doors loose & didn't shut properly. No time to try jacuzzi.. Bathroom window overlooking car park with blinds that didn't work very well.
Very helpful and friendly staff, particulaly the young ladies on reception and waiting tables.
Food quality inconsistance varing from very good to downright lousy.
good bed, good location
The breakfast was overcooked. Soggy mushrooms, overly salted bacon Wifi didn't work in the room
Location was good
Room and bathroom ok, but looking a little tired and in need of some TLC.
Quiet location close to Nottingham. Bus stop into town across road. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Off road parking. Pubs within walking distance.
Over priced for location and facilities compared to other locations that reviewer stayed in. Room was small but ok for one night.
The 'cottage-like' accommodation; the very friendly and helpful staff; the non-greasy cooked breakfast; draft beer in the bar (as well as the usual lagers etc; good menu, well cooked food and large helpings in the restaurant.
No bath - but good shower.
Excellent breakfast and pleasant staff.Comfortable bed and pillow.
Very tired bedroom and en suite at top of house and dangerous hole in carpet on riser at top flight of stairs. I asked to see other rooms. They were beautifully furnished and appointed. No doubt our tired room is next on the list for refurbishment.
The cottage style of the rooms were delightful and the gardens.
The shower needed up dating
General location for our purpose at the week end.
Extreme noise on occasions re water tank filling above Saffron Room
Not enough members of staff on in morning to check out. Location of room would not have been suitable for elderly. Very steep staircase.
I booked for a group of friends who thought it was wonderful and one of them will be returning to stay when the test match is on.
Good breakfast. Soft bed. Lovely gardens.
Older fixtures and fittings.
staff were very helpful and obliging
All good or better.
Lovely accommodation in a picturesque setting and helpful and friendly staff
Stayed in the Garden suite which was a little home from home even with well kept garden on the door.Very clean and comfortable with excellent staff, food and superb value for what we paid.
