I'd booked the Countryman because I was running an ultramarathon and needed somewhere to stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. There were lots of nice touches such as the little table greetings in the mornings and the way the staff recognised me so that I didn't even have to ask for my meal to be put on the bill - it was already done. The room was large, warm and comfortable and having a large bath to soak in after the run was luxury.
Excellent food - we ate in the evening and at breakfast. Delicious. Courteous, friendly, welcoming staff Well appointed, spacious bedroom - comfortable and clean Easy to find Easy to park
No complaints at all.
Very understanding staff - knew who we were as soon as we stepped through the door and went out of their way to accommodate all our requests including having gluten free bread and a last minute late checkout option.
Friendly staff Great value Large pub on site with good food Free pool and darts in pub Good breakfast (included with room) Close to Durdle Dor
Double beds a bit small Some rooms a little bit cramped for 4 people, but most OK
We were on a cycling weekend and the staff couldn't have been more helpful with storing our bikes, local advice and smiling cheerfully when we stomped through the packed restaurant soaking wet, covered in mud and exhausted. Lovely people!
One tiny complaint is the energy saving light bulbs in the family room we booked. Good if you like romantic lighting. Not so good if you want to actually see what you're doing. But very small gripe for excellent stay.
The staff, the location and the room were brilliant. Very accommodating for travelling with a dog. Food was excellent.
Excellent service from the staff, very friendly and prompt. Room very clean and comfortable. Made the stay after a long drive even better. Good quality food and ale. Area is superb with great places to visit. Monkey world and the Tank Museum are only 13mins away. Beautiful countryside and lovely walks.
The only thing to mention was that our room was near to some kind of pump inside the pub and it was very loud at certain times. Could be heard above the TV. I would stay there again but would ask for a different room. The pub is very nice to stay at , well worth a visit.
food was excellent, staff friendly excellent location for tank Museum
found room very hot and stuffy to sleep in
A fabulous Inn in beautiful country surroundings. Warm & welcoming with friendly, helpful staff. Spotlessly clean. Superb English hearty breakfast & wholesome variety of lunches & evening meals. Prime location for many attractions. Loved the place, felt like was in true England, will definitely return. Rob & Michelle Lenehan.
Staff very friendly and helpful, and nice to dine in the evening after a busy day sightseeing also a treat to have sky t v in room. good car parking plenty of room.
nice big shower but did have a leak onto the bathroom floor.
Room was very nice and clean, food was good and staff very welcoming
Shower was not able to be attached to the wall so Bath only or stand holding the shower
Location, staff and food.
Our bedroom was located directly over the pub toilets (end of corridor on LHS). Obviously these were used constantly until closing, but the flushing system was left running all night and was directly behind the wall our bed was against. I managed 5 hours sleep, but my wife didn't sleep all night! If you stay here avoid this room...!
I enjoyed my stay at the Countryman Inn.I arrived very tired at 7 pm and was given a warm welcome. Then I ordered some food... a fish pie which was delicious but very big plate of food! I slept well in a comfortable bed which was followed up by a great breakfast and send off.
The staff couldn't be more accommodating, the rooms were large, comfortable and well decorated. The food was plentiful and delicious!
No bad points whatsoever!
We've stayed here many times, breakfast was excellent as usual, room very clean.
Stayed in Room 5 and the mattress was a little lumpy!!
EVERYTHING IS PERFECT

Excellent location for Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Rooms well decorated and clean. Nice atmosphere created by staff and guests. Enjoyed a drink in the bar. Breakfast Excellent.
We ate dinner in the restaurant and for the prices charged it just wasnt good enough.
loved the spacious rooms and the breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. Staff were friendly and welcoming and we ate in the restaurant in the evening. The food was reasonably priced and very tasty
My Dad couldn't get TCM channel on the TV
The staff were very welcoming and always found time to speak to you. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent
The shower was difficult to control and the bathroom window was plain glass with no daytime covering. As it overlooked the beer garden I found this uncomfortable
This was our 2nd visit and it was lovely. It has a nice selection of locals and guests, and that gave it a nice atmosphere. The food is excellent but you have to have a hardy appetite as the portions are huge and very tasty. We will visit again.
Staff were really friendly and helpful, rooms lovely, the bar and restaurant area were beautiful. Very nice English breakfast in the morning. There was a relaxed atmosphere and we got the sense that nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended, and we would definitely stay there again.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. We booked into the countryman inn on a Tuesday night and had a lovely dinner. Following a great night sleep we had a great breakfast, including gluten free toast for me, which was really appreciated.
The staff were helpful, friendly and generally excellent, The food was good, especially breakfast. Lovely location with footpath and bridleway alongside ideal for walking our dog. Bedroom was very clean and the hotel/pub was very well run.
TV in bedroom only got very intermittent signal from Sky.
Having the dogs with us did not cause any problems and there are good walks right outside the hotel
