Bed Cleanliness of room
Service - half an hour until I got served for breakfast No TV remote - when staff informed, got a shrug of shoulders, no apology
breakfast on time Bed firm & supportive
no chair in room desk often not manned
Easy to find helpful staff Basic but fairly clean and tidy
I went down the bar and had to wait some 15 minutes to be served even though I was the only one in there at that time
The Food & staff
The Hotel is very shabby and need of complete refurbishment
Tiny rooms Dated decour Tiny bathroom Poor natural lighting Noisy Thin door/walls
Simple, basic, quiet
Problems with plumbing, emptying the sink resulted in dirty water coming up through bath plughole
Very good value breakfast and accommodation. Basic but honest.
Sounded like a washing machine running all night but could have been an air conditioning unit. If you can sleep on board a ship then no problem.
Lovely Spacious room, very clean & comfortable.
The bar wasn't open on Saturday teatime for us to get a drink, and when we did later that evening we found it to be very expensive.
Comfortable bed! Good food! Good bar prices with good selection of drinks! Excellent wifi! Very clean throughout! Spacious room :-)
The temperature in the rooms! Air con is not available, but fans could improve the temp as their is no extraction from the bathroom and the heat from the bath/shower comes back into the room! Mind you, it was 30+ degrees outside!!
Friendly staff. Availability of in room facilities.
Altho clean and tidy the shower wouldnt warm up. Had to settle for a quick cold shower :(
Size of Room Facilities in Room
We hadn't pre-booked breakfast but went down anyway thinking that it would be no trouble to get one. Was served with a breakfast but felt as though we had put someone to a great deal of trouble to get one. Therefore didn't enjoy it.
Bed was ok
Mould in bathroom, no plug sockets.
Carpets marked Decor. very poor.Bath & toilet marked. Rooms very tired & out of date & small
Location and good helpful staff.
Bedroom was a bit basic and stuck in 1970s, needs refurbishment of bedroom and bathroom. Poor lighting, bathroom extractor was not working and shower head was leaking water continuously.
Value for money and friendly, helpful staff. Very spacious room (No. 31). The points made in previous negative feedback have obviously been addressed. Absolutely no problems with cleanliness.
Tired decor and not the most comfortable bed. Other members of our party had very small/odd shaped rooms but ours was very spacious. We only had a bath and no shower though.
Room very small and bed not very comfortable
The rooms were just depressing and décor very poor. Mould in bathroom and parts of ceiling coming apart. TV Did not work. Was completely unpleasant
Wifi unserviceable.. No atmosphere.. Poor bar!
Facilities where could nicely compacted together overall not a bad nights stay.
I could feel it was a spring mattress and had anti wet the bed sheets underneath
Room 54 - The window sill was in disrepair, & paper peeling of all aroung the window. The curtains were hanging of in more than one place, the gliders that should be attached to the track had clearly been broken for some time. The Plastic sheet on the bed was uncomfortable, noisy & made us feel clammy. There was no wardrobe or anything to hang clothes in. Only a shower & no bath. The double bed was the smallest double bed we have ever slept in. The pictures on the internet were obviously taken in a different room, as this room was small & cramped with dated/ shabby decor. Would definitely spend the money on a Taxi home rather than another stay here.
Upon arrival, the staff were not very friendly and welcoming at all (in fact quite rude). The room was basic with a creeky bed and thin walls so you could hear every noise in other rooms. There were flies flying around the bar area which is just not the type of thing you want! My overall opinion of this hotel is not great, basic things that you would expect from a hotel were not present. Little things like all of the tea/coffee making equipment was stashed into the actual mugs so you had to empty out the whole mugs to make a drink making a mess. At breakfast in the morning there were not enough tea bags put in the main kettle which meant that the tea was exceptionally weak, like I say basic things you would expect would be taken care of. I wouldn't stay here again, the experience has put me off.
room dull curtains hanging off not drawing closed. shower would not turn off.
Friendly staff Good room
