Score from 643 reviews Very good
Location good, hotel was spacious and cosy.
Little disappointed by dinner , fish a little overdone a and generally average
Wifi was good Good location Bed was comfy (albeit not clean)
Room not that clean - hairs in your bed doesn't scream cleanliness.. Very cold in room even with heating on, had to sleep with multiple thermals on. No stand up shower - just a hose connected from the bath with no stand to put it on. Little water pressure on taps. Old windows and old decor. Will try a different hotel next time.
I liked the helpful welcome and the e-mail from the hotel confirming my booking. The upgrade to an executive double was good of them especially at the same price. It was in the second half of the buildings ng next door from the main, which I understand is in the process of a face lift. I did have a walk around the hotel and noted that there were some interesting furniture items which added character to the establishment. I did meet the owner briefly and had a short chat with him, mainly about what we were watching on the lounge TV.
Nice Staff. The room was not bad.
Old but not bad. The towers and the rest could be more white. The heating on the room was not turned on, the room was freezing. The room door security could be better.
We have stayed several times before and been disappointed with our room but this time we had a much better one. Room 107. Receptionist very friendly.
Very clean and large!
Friendly & helpful staff. Breakfast plentiful and hot. Will definitely stay again out from the buzz of Brighton but bus service really good to get into the town with ease.
Comfortable and relaxing stay
We have stayed in this hotel about 5 times now - it is great value for money - free parking - so clean and friendly and brilliant location and has tons of charm
Free parking stress free
Decor abit dated but I'm not that bothered it's the company that means more
For 65 pounds a night you don't expect the ritz, but you do expect some minimums. Two things really let this hotel down - one was the staff - unhelpful - with all our luggage didn't even offer to help even though must have known additional stairs to get to our room, poor knowledge for reception and bar staff. On surface room looked clean. However I dropped something - when reached down between bed and bedside table found a wrapper and a babies dummie. General a bit old and run down . Not worst but definatly not a place to go for any romance !
Lovely room and good location, bathroom was a real treat, spacious, plenty of hot water.
The staff, they really need to be trained in how to smile and interact with people, it seemed they were doing us a favour actually being there. Bath towels could do with being larger, they were the size of a postage stamp!!
free parking staff all friendly and helpful room was warm and quiet
room was perfectly adequate but a bit tired: lumpy chair, one lamp not working, unclosable drawers.
Convenient for Hove Sea Front. Quiet Good value for money Friendly helpful staff Freshly cooked breakfast
Hotel needs refurbishment including replacement plumbing and heating and redec throughout
The room was very clean, the area was nice and close to city center by car.
The furniture was a little bit old but cosy.
As this was a visit to our family over the holiday, The Courland was definitely part of it, from efficient and happy reception to a cheery "good morning" from the domestic staff members. Like being with an extended family. Well Done !
Hotel was near to sea front only a short walk about 10 minutes we had a lovely big room and the bed was comfortable had good wifi and the staff where really good
It was a bit of a walk to get to room up some stairs down a corridor then down some stairs the hot water was not very hot the towel rail was not working so Would have wet towel to use again
Room was comfortable
The bathroom hadn't been cleaned very well.
good size room/quiet at back/parking on-site
parking muddy in places
Cold room, tired decor, pre cooked breakfast not very tasty,
The location was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and quiet and the breakfast was very good value with a great cooked breakfast and choice of other food.
Heating was a bit high and the cold water ran hot to start wtih but I think that was probably due to us being at the far end of the hotel and it wasn't really a problem.
Cold and noisy room
Great location and nice rooms. Yes a little threadbare in places but absolutely fine by us. Bed was comfy and sheets crisp and clean.
We chose this hotel because it was reasonably-priced, had on-site parking and was within walking distance of the Brighton centre. The staff were all very pleasant and polite. The breakfast was good.
Our room was on the third floor and was an 'interesting' shape due to dormer windows etc. My tall husband could not get in or out of bed without hitting his head on the ceiling or banging his knees on the radiator! There was space, the bed could have been positioned better.
