A new hire arrived on the third day of our stay. Unfortunately, this meant that the room was not cleaned to the same standard as the previous day. We also didn't get any clean towels or milk. However, the hostess was happy to help and explained that the new hire hadn't received much training/ instruction. I hope that with enough time/ sufficient training, the new hire will come to provide the excellent service that I associate with this B&B.
There is so much that impressed me about this B&B. Firstly, Ill comment on the rooms. Each room was really large and was separate from the house, making it feel more like a cottage than a room. The rooms were also equipped with their own fridge/ microwave and received a jug of milk and cookies daily. We stayed in the King room. There was a lovely flat screen TV, dining table and the decorations were tasteful. The bed was also extremely comfortable and the towels were really lovely and fluffy. The walk from the room to the breakfast room/ conservatory contained great views of the horses/ garden first thing in the morning.
Secondly, the breakfast was really good, with a menu provided. My partner really enjoyed the scrambled egg and salmon, and we found the cooked breakfasts very large and filling. There was also home made bread/ jams and fresh fruit on offer. We were also served generously large pots of tea/ coffee.
Finally, in terms of location, this B&B is a bit further out, but it certainly is a great base. There is a boating centre nearby. Although not terribly warm, we booked our trip for Easter and had a great time on the boats. It is however easy to reach most other places by car, if you fancy a day trip.
