Excellent breakfast prepared by chef. Restaurant had limited choice but food was acceptable if uninspiring. Location excellent for local walking, particularly in the Lomond Hills. Good base for exploring the East Neuk and North Fife. Falkland is lovely historic village and the Palace and grounds are a must see. Room was cold at night, despite heating. Stairwell walls stained and paper peeling where there had been a leak. Locked out of hotel at 10pm on Friday evening. Apparently limited local custom, so bar was not manned. Disappointingly restaurant menu didn't seem to feature local produce. Heath Robinson clearly installed the bathroom in the 'deluxe' suit!

We were the only guests in the hotel and so we appreciated the one-to-one service of the hotel manager, who was very helpful and accommodating. Hardly any negatives but I noticed that the stair carpet which led to our bedroom was looking a bit grubby. Time to replace it I think.

Well maintained older building, getting a little tired in places but otherwise in this present climate of difficulties in any business , we still like to support the local and smaller enterprises. The staff were fabulous, all friendly, supportive and attentive. The restaurant had a very good menu, the food was served quickly and it was hot and served on hot plates. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, good selection and choice. Lovely over night stay. Unfortunately the room we had, the bath room on suite was a completely tiled room. It was a very cold night, but the bathroom should have been warmer.

Very good value, comfortable, warm (weather was pretty cold outside), good facilities, friendly and helpful staff. The en-suite was adequate but the shower wasn't brilliant. Not a major problem, though.

A lovely village. Staff were very welcoming and food was good - hearty pub style menu. Restaurant doubles as a Coffee Shop by day. Bar area looked nice though not many people about. Handy for work in local area. Whilst photos of exterior, bar and restaurant are accurate, the stairs and corridor were grubby and whilst adequate, there is no way that this can be described as a Deluxe Room. The curtains were so thin that they did not block the light from the streetlights outside, the bathroom though clean was very dated with cracked tiles and mould in shower which made it feel dirty. It was not what is shown on the website. Compared to places I stay regularly for the same rate or not much more, this should have been cheaper than it was.

Very comfortable and cosy. Comfortable bed. Staff very pleasant and helpful, nothing was any bother to them. Food for evening meal was exceiient with dishes available that were away from the norm. Breakfast had everything we could have wanted and in quantity. Not really a "didn't like" but the decor in places was a bit tired but this did not prevent my wife and I enjoying a very peaceful stay with all the comforts helped along by kind/helpful staff.

Wonderful location right opposite the royal palace of Falkland. Excellent breakfast. It has recently changed hands, and the new owners have a lot of work to do on the decor and furnishings to restore it to become once again a genuine, historic coaching inn. Get rid of the naff 20th century furnishings, wallpaper, 'art', etc. Also - get it staffed adequately. There were no staff on the premises overnight.

Comfortable and well equipped accommodation (we stayed in the apartment). Helpful and attentive staff. Although not specified, breakfast was included with the potentially self catering apartment. We ate in the hotel and the menu is very good both in range and price. Food quality is excellent. The Covenanter is amongst our top 5 places to stay.

Perfect location in a quaint village. Ideally situated. Beautiful woodland walks. Staff friendly and helpful (especially Grace). We stayed in the Bruce room which overlooked the square and the church. Very comfortable. We ate at the hotel both evenings and had breakfast - food was lovely and portions large! A lovely hotel to visit. We will definitely return. In need of a little TLC in places regarding decor but still very comfortable.

Best just to say, it was all great. Friendly & cheerful staff, great food and comfortable/clean rooms. We'll be back. The only complaint you could have is no private parking, but their is plenty of parking around the hotel so there really can be no complaint.
